12oz bottle, same regular Plead the 5th label, but tagged with a white sticker denoting "Tippins". A big thanks to Ckoz, a great MI trader.

Opaque, black elixir poured into Hoppin' Frog snifter. Brown/mocha head, settles into 2mm rim, scant lacing.

Aroma of caramel, baker's chocolate, bourbon, malt, pine, earth tones.

Sweet chocolate, bourbon, caramel, nicely blended into a smooth brew.

Medium, nicely carbonated, smooth. Great sipper.

This one hits the spot and really adds to the base brew. Well done.

Brewer confirmed that each of the variants is from the same blend and thus the same beer. Compared them next to a regular BBPt5. Pours are the same, black with a little bit of light brown tight head. Nose is a bit stronger wood up front, malts are dry chocolate and light notes of olive. Bourbon is subtle. Taste follows suit, less rich malt and bourbon than the original, olive and cocoa nib maltiness. Its extremely well integrated, more so than the fresh BBPt5. It isn't quite as rich as the original. It actually seems to have a bit more carb and is a bit thinner. I prefer the original but this is actually a very nice beer, I'd bet very similar to an original with a year or two on it.
