I was at the Brewery on Sat and I brought this one home after having several others at the pub. Pours a deep brown with a slight touch of blue to it and a nice off white head. Smells like a slight chocolate malt full of fruityness that is subtle and if you aren't drinking this alone you might miss it. Has a taste of a decent brown ale with a tune of alcohol carried in the finish to go with a berry-like flavor. Great medium body is a the perfect vechile for this beer and the growler was gone in one sitting.

A deep hazy dark brown, with bits of light filtering through. Thin but dense head fades after a bit. Nose is malts and a slight sweetness, can't really detect much of the berries here, it's very subtle. Taste is all malt up front, followed by a nice gentle sweet berry finish. Mouthfeel is good, and drinkability is high. Nice brew all around.

Had this on tap on Saturday at the brewpub in Marshall. Pours brown with maybe a hint of purple (or is that just what i want to see?). Small, off-white head. Odor is fruity and, im told, of elderberries specifically, but i wouldn't know an elderberry from any other forest berry. smells good anyway, and i think of blackberries. Also the regular malty, slightly chocolate odor of an american brown with some hops too. Taste is sweet, slightly tangy and fruity. Beer tastes slightly wild like its still fermenting after some fruit fell into a regular brown ale. Nice and interesting. The light wild fruitiness goes pretty well with the brown ale chocolate malt flavor.
