look: 4.5 | smell: 4.75 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.75 | overall: 4.25

bottle into duvel glass

appearance: cloudy dark orange, unfiltered, with a foamy 1 finger white head

smell: heavy fruity and floral notes, emphasis on the grapefruit and citrus (simcoe hops maybe?), very sweet, some clove

taste: one of the smoothest most well balanced IPA's i've had, probably after Two-Hearted. Heavy tropical fruity notes, getting a lot of clemtentine/orange tones as well as some sweet apple, and also some earthy malts in the backend, the finish is hardly as bitter as the initial taste would suggest, and it ends surprisingly smooth, would make a great summer IPA.

mouthfeel: great carbonation and a pretty big bodied feel

overall: The sleeper of great IPA's in the Great Lakes Region, this underrated brewery puts out some great beers, this one is no exception. Superbly balanced, the bitterness is easily pushed aside by the smooth drinkability. Perfect amount of floral and citrus notes to create a near perfect representation of the style.
