look: 3.5 | smell: 3.75 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

Dark amber with a strong haze. Thin head, with a lasting single-bubble layer. It leaves a nice ring of lace. The edges streak down the glass. There's only spotty lace after the initial sip.

A bit more dark and earthy than the Esdasac. There's still a hoppy overtone, but it's mild.

Starts with a brief amber malt taste of neutral sweetness. The white pepper hop flavor quickly takes over. The body leans to the thin side but is compensated by the low carbonation. The finish is bitter with non-descript hop. It doesn't live up to the citrus flavors expected.

Poured into a standard pint glas a dull lightly hazed deep burnt orange with a one finger slight off white head atop.Fresh citric hops in the nose, not overly sharp just juicy and fresh smelling,a not overly sweet firm malt base is there as well.Like the nose the flavors are dominated by overripe citrus fruitiness with mild grassiness to boot, there is enough malt to "kinda" hold up the citric blast.A great ipa, love the freshness in the aromas and on the palate.

Cheers to Goblinmunkey7 for giving me this beer

Appearance: Hazy, copper-orange, with some gold highlights - pours with a small, off-white head - fades to a few wisps of a cap, leaves some lacing

Smell: Citra, in a subdued liquid form, with some malts - ripe tropical notes, including pineapples and melons - some fleshy orange and tangerine - not much depth otherwise - some pale and caramel malts, with some graininess

Taste: Regretfully, even more one-dimensional than the aroma - mild tropical notes, tangerine, orange, peaches, and pineapples (but all very mild) - some pine as well - medium level bitterness - somewhat dry - some earthiness - nice pale and caramel malt backbone - some balance

Mouthfeel: On the light side of medium, smooth, nice carbonation, drinkable

Overall: Good but mostly meh

Citra is a magical variety of hops, but it shouldn't go solo. It's more of a support class. It has some amazing properties, but it can't survive on its own. What I would really like to try is Crooked Tree dry-hopped with Citra.
