The last brew to review from the Dark Horse IPA snack pack.

Served in an Elysian tulip... sorta.

A: Looked pretty much like the other ones, including Crooked Tree: Dark orange, murky as hell, but this one had a much, much frothier head on it.

S: Mango skin in spades up front. Potent... fruity... hoppy... fresh.... Ahhh... I also got some hints of orange juice and pineapple in there as well.

T: Dang, I loves me some Citra. The name of the hop tells the story pretty much: Citr(is)a, with a nice bitter component, however, the fruit wins here.

M: The carbonation was spot on and the lacing was really nice. Fruit sugar in spades.

O: This was really nice, however, I think the Falconer's Flight entry was about as good.

I liked this beer. Bought fresh and featuring citra hops the aroma was very nice. The aroma has a tropical fruit and maybe grapefruit smell. It's not very assertive like some west coast IPA but very confident.
This CT is unfiltered so it has a hazt amber color with a little off white head.
Drinks good and brimming with tasty hops, but not all that flavorful. More dank and wet then anything else.
I like it. It was a good variation from the standard Ct.

I'll be noting only the hop character for this review unless something sticks out. See my Crooked Tree review to know more of what I think about the beer.

S= The smell is a nice big sort of dirty citrus smell to it. It's not the typical citrus bomb most citra hops are. This seems to have a little dirtier smell if that makes sense.

T= The taste is really big in the dirty sort of grassy taste up front before the finish which is very reminicent of the citrus bombs I'm use to with citra hops. The hopping seems to be a little ligher with this version than the Crooked Tree. I'm guessing lower AA in the citra hops than say the centennials or something early in the boil.
