L: Poured from a bottle to a pint glass. Had a dark brown color and a thick texture. There was an inch of tan-colored, foamy, fairly long-lasting head. Average lacing.

S: A very average aroma of malt, chocolate, and a slightly smoky quality.

T: Tasted of a lot of roasted malts, some dark chocolate, a hint of dark fruit (plums, especially), a burnt quality, some smokiness, cinnamon, and light hops in the finish. For a Baltic Porter, this beer isn't quite as powerful as it should be, given the style. There's a thinness to the flavor, but it's still okay.

F: A decent amount of carbonation with a dry finish. Medium-bodied.

O: This is an uneven beer for the most part. Not a bad brew, but stumbles a bit in flavor.

This beer pours a simple black with an average head. The aroma offers up chocolate, coffee, mild roastiness, and overripe banana. The flavor has lots of chocolate, cocoa powder, toasty malts, oatmeal, and burnt cinnamon. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with solid carbonation. Overall this is decent, unremarkable beer. There is nothing wrong with it, but it has nothing to recommend it either.

Pours a very dark brown, almost black color. No foam head to speak of.

Smells of dark chocolate.

Tastes of thin dark chocolate, slightly bitter.

Feels thin, not full bodied, but not watery.

Overall, it's alright, it's a chocolatey tasting porter.

12 oz bottle, bottled on dating on the neck of the bottle (12-12-15)

Pours dark brown, dark khaki cap, minor in size. Leaves some low spotty lacing.

Rich nose of dark chocolate

Carbonation on the lower side, and heavier bodied brew.

Notes of more dark chocolate, fudgy brownies, dark malts, maple, vanilla, brandy....rich and flavorful stuff

A: [3.75] Beer is a dark brown to black color. It formed a minimal head (less than 1/2 a finger of tan bubbles). The bottle lists the ABV (7.0%) and there is a born on date (11/12/15).

S: [4.00] Dark fruit like plums and raisin, coffee. The aroma is really inviting.

T: [4.00] Bittersweet chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, dark fruits.

M: [3.75] Feels rich and creamy on the tongue. Nice heft to the body. Medium+ carbonation. There is a slight roasted malt flavor and a cocoa flavor that lingers on the tongue.

O: [4.00] This is a well made porter. Lots of well balanced flavors allowing the chocolate, coffee, and dark fruit to all come through on the nose and the taste. This is the best porter I have had in a while. It is one that I would get again or share.
