Served in a snifter at Durty Nellie's.
Well, I've had the naked version, the cherry/hibiscus version, now a raspberry version. Go figure. This stuff pours a clear amber-brass topped by a finger of lightly off-cream-white foam. The nose comprises mild artificial raspberry drizzled over dry wheat, black pepper, and clove. As for the taste: Imagine a normal tripel, with it's banana, clove, wheat, and spicy Belgian yeast characteristics. To understand how this stuff tastes, replace the banana with slightly artificial, slightly dank raspberries, all the while leaving everything else stated above standard. That's how this stuff tastes. The body is a light-leaning medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a sorta/kinda dry-ish finish. Overall, this is an okay tripel, if only because the raspberry flavor comes across as fake and unassuming, and, to make matters worse, it doesn't meld entirely well with the spices. Still, it ain't all bad, as I could stand to have another were one offered me.
