Hite Jinro co. "Hite Ice Point"
12 oz. brown glass bottle, no freshness date - just a packaging code
$1.99 @ Cost Plus World Market, Arlington, VA

Clear, golden, basic "Euro" lager that actually comes from Seoul, Korea. There's a kind of minty and lime-like character that's unusual, but not bad, and in the end interesting and refreshing. It's nicely balanced, and readily drinkable with a light-medium body and a gently crisp, fine bubbled carbonation. Not worth seeking out, but not something you should pass by if offered.

A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high bright white head that died down, leaving some bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of corn are present in the nose along with notes of pale malts.
T: The taste has flavors of corn and pale malts along with subtle hints of sweetness. Only traces of bitterness are perceptible.
M: It feels light-bodied and slightly watery on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer goes down easily and doesn't have any "off" flavors or is dominated by adjuncts, but doesn't have any interesting aromas or flavors.

Purchased as a single at the LCBO. Served at 4deg C in a draught glass

A- Opens well and pours a high white head that is gone in 30sec or less. Clear medium gold color.

S- Lots of hops. Very similar to a Heineken.

T- Open and honest beer. Not a big body or flavor but nice overall. Light and airy good. Touch metallic which is a pity.

M- Very carbonated and tinny. Metallic so this mass produced beer is not top shelf nor even bottom

O- Not a good beer at all. Will never buy again or drink if I'm in Korea.

Food Pairing

This ok beer went well with........ Toasted cheese sandwiches with cheese and onion.

Enjoy
