Notes / Commercial Description:
This divinely delicious brew is Maumee Bay Brewing Company’s assertive double India Pale Ale featuring a bouquet of Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe, and of course a hefty dose of Amarillo Hops. Delivering a delicate balance of citrus and pine hop presence with a malty sweetness, Amarillo Brillo is a pleasure to drink. Expect a raw, crisp mouthfeel with a boldness that lets you know it’s a serious brew. We suggest pouring this beer into a snifter at 50-55 degrees.

Aroma: Wonderful, sticky, pine resiny hop aromatics up front. Hints of grapefruit rind, orange peel, and all things wonderful and hoppy invade the nose. Fermentation character is clean.
Appearance: Cloudy amber pour with a huge rock, sticky white cap that retains forever.
Flavor: Wow! Blistering grapefruit notes, lemon zest, powdery resin hop notes all invade the palate. Some candied orange sweetness provides a counterpoint but it is quickly beaten back by hop bitterness. Balance is firmly bitter. Finish is clean and dry.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Slightly oily and a little warmth on the back of the tongue.
Overall impression: Divine. Wonderful beer. Enough hops to satisfy but immensely drinkable with enough dryness and sweetness to make you want more. Glad we have access to this local brewery now.

It is a mostly clear gold with a very large, long lasting, off white foamy head. Lots of lacing. Exceptional looking brew. S
Kind of boozy smelling for under 9%. Otherwise, pungent hops, grapefruit, pine, and sweet malts.
It is loaded with flavor. Crisp grapefruit, tangerine/orange, and mango on the citrus side with some resinous pine and slightly herbal green on the other. Sweet caramel malts provide some balance. A solid, lingering bitterness.
Pretty drying/ raw feel. It is not gentle. Could use a touch more body. I would say it is on the far lighter end of medium. It is still fairly creamy and very resinous. A lot more great aspects than not.
In a state full of killer hoppy beers it is easy to see how some slip through the cracks, but I'm not sure how or why I have not heard any talk of this one. It is extremley similar to Revolutions Unsessionable. Just dialed back a hair. I will be grabbing more of these.

Poured into tulip; clear golden orange with a huge lively fluffy white head that isn't going anywhere fast, and leaves a ton of delicate lacing. Smell is tons of sweet floral scents, as well as tropical fruits. Mango and a bit of pineapple, with some muted citrus as well, still sweet though. Some light bready malt and yeast are smellable as it warms, as well as some unique herbal/onion-like scents that are odd but not unwanted. Taste is sweet and smooth at first, lots of tropical fruit over bready malt. Bitter hops come in strong and push through to the finish, with a deliciously bitter aftertaste pinching off the smooth, full mouthfeel.
While this might not be the most amazing DIPA, it is one of the harder-to-find floral/fruity/smooth variety, as opposed to the usual piney/bitter/spiky DIPAs that are more common.

I just opened up this one tonight. I've had a growler before and the results were the same, but I like to be certain; it's the same review as the tap with differences noted.
The appearance is the same as I got off the tap: a one-finger head that dissipates pretty slowly to a sturdy foam, leaving behind some decently thick rings of lacing. The head retained better than most I've had from MMBC.
This brew uses six varieties of hops, and they're all here in the nose. The aroma is very clean with lots of citrus and pine in the nose accompanied by something like strawberry with a note of grains and, to top it off, nicely balanced with a clean caramel malt to counter the raw, earthy hops.
The taste is to suit, with lots of fresh, raw, earthy hops and that very nice balance with the malt adding just a subtle underlying sweetness that takes nothing away. Hops and grains, along with a light minty flavor, remain in a nicely-lingering dry finish. Nothing changed in the flavor.
The mouthfeel is a good mix of smooth and crisp, and the moderate carbonation wasn't affected enough to change the score.
It's practically the same as off the tap except that I've lost a little in the aroma. Otherwise, I think I'll be taking home a few more growlers over the course of time

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tulip. Appears a nice orange to amber color, very hazy, and has a good two fingers of head. The head is off-white, sticks around for a while, and leaves great lacing.
The nose is amazing, and very complex. Lots of pine, floral notes, and fruitiness. There is some underlying sweetness as well, but the hops take the forefront. The taste is actually quite balanced, and much more so than the nose. The malts come through in the middle of each sip, but the hops are still very present, and do play the lead role. There's lots of citrus and floral notes, and everything works together very well.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied, with below-average carbonation. This has a very smooth feeling to it. Overall, this is a great brew. Very refreshing, complex, enjoyable, and pretty drinkable for an 8.5% brew. Definitely worth seeking out and enjoying whenever possible.
