Stop # 336 on my world brewery/brewpub tour.

Visited in the late evening for dinner with a coworker who order what turned out to be a massively delicious piece of carrot cake as an appetizer. May have been the highlight of the visit.

Second attempt at visiting Maumee. The first time my beer buddy and I were denied on a Saturday afternoon which I thought was odd to be closed at a time like that.

It's located in a large historic brick building in a "quiet" part of downtown Toledo. Not much going on in the area but was quite busy on this Thursday night. Nice view of the vintage brewing gear and and plenty of breweriana to take in as part of the atmosphere.

Took a while to get my first round of samplers (as well as the carrot cake). Lots of bartenders but they all appeared to be chatting up patrons sitting at the bar.

Beers I went with...
Pale
Blood Orange Hefe (sounds better than it is)
Red Ale
Blitzen (leftover holiday ale with cinnamon on glass rim)
Rye 2 x IPA
Dry Irish Stout (best beer of the bunch)
Chocolate Cherry Porter (complete with cherry sprinkles)
Breakfast Stout

The beers were mostly average and I'm still not sure how I feel about the cinnamon and sprinkles as special effects on my beer. Samples were $.75 and $1.00 which was nice.

We also split a pizza which was pretty good.

Really enjoyed this brewery. Entering the brewery feels like going back in time with all the old brewery memorabilia on the walls. They had at least 10-14 different brews on tap. A sampler flight was cheap, I believe under $10. Most importantly the quality of the beer was very solid. I had a nitro coffee cream ale that was a solid B-, A blood orange wit that was very fitting to style a B, glass hopper IPA B to B+ simple but very well balance, the total eclipse coffee stout was awesome-easily an A- or better, I honestly cannot recall the last two beers of the sampler off hand but they were at least C+ to B- quality. Overall, the beer was average to slightly above average.

The wait staff were awesome! Great service without being overbearing. The pizza was awesome. Well worth the visit. Will definitely revisit

This place needs more love. The food is always delicious (try the French dip) and the beer is consistently satisfying (total eclipse breakfast stout is a great one). But the greatest part of this place is the atmosphere and the staff who are always professional while being friendly. Everything is very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality

Cool location and if your a fan of breweriana, lots to look at. Service was very good and the food was as well. There were 10 house beers on tap and all were good, nothing spectacular but all solid. Wourth the visit if your in Toledo.

Very large place, and worth the visit for the memorabilia even if you don't drink beer. It is like a museum. There is a brick oven, wood-fired oven and some great food. The service was excellent, and they have carry out sales, including singles.

Vibe was 4.2.. just due to the fact that there were bartenders my girlfriend and I... Now I would give the 5 of us a solid 5 for having a kick ass vibe of our own. But I am in fact reviewing the bar. The beers were drank were really good, I had the Glass Hopper and the Blood Orange wit. And MI lady had the red said on and calypso lemon. The service was spot on excellent. And they had a nice selection of quality beers..
We didn't try any food...
I would recommend any and all go to Maumee bay Brewing...
