This was my third microbrewery on my way back from the Michigan spring game. This was by far my favorite. It is located at the Oliver House.

I walked in and was met by brick walls and shelves on the right hand side on which were perched vintage beer cans. The place was clean and appeared pretty nice. The bartenders were very friendly and helpful in beer descriptions.

I tried the hazelnut porter, barley wine, and Total Eclipse Breakfast Stout. They were all good beers, but the latter was absolutely delicious. I had to get a growler of that. The growlers were very low priced. A lot of growlers went for $7.50. Of course my selection was $18, but that is in line with a lot of brewpubs.

I did not eat, but my friend ordered some riblets. The bartender said that they looked overcooked and went back and had the chef make a fresh batch. I thought that was a very classy thing to do. EDIT: I did eat on my second trip and the food was amazing! I was even more impressed on my second trip. Very friendly staff.

Overall, I was impressed with this place. I will have to make this a stop on my way to and from Michigan.

Stopped by Maumee this past weekend, wanted to check out some of their stouts on draft, all were good. Grabbed a half growler of the double shot espresso stout togo. Wanted to shout out the bartender who filled the growler, it was done perfect. right to the top. I got worried when he walked away from the fill, but the taps had a flow control to slow the fill, very impressed.

I visited for dinner with a group a co-workers during a 2 day team meeting and I was very impressed with this brewery. It has a very old-world, dark style to it that feels completely different than the typical industrial warehouse style brewery that is so popular right now. This is a multi-story brewery/restaurant with a very good food menu and nice selection of both food and beer. They cover several different types of both food and beer, covering a wide variety of tastes and desires. There are some tvs around but they are fairly small. There is plenty of seating to go around and conversation is very easy due to the quietness of the place.

Really enjoyed this brewery. Entering the brewery feels like going back in time with all the old brewery memorabilia on the walls. They had at least 10-14 different brews on tap. A sampler flight was cheap, I believe under $10. Most importantly the quality of the beer was very solid. I had a nitro coffee cream ale that was a solid B-, A blood orange wit that was very fitting to style a B, glass hopper IPA B to B+ simple but very well balance, the total eclipse coffee stout was awesome-easily an A- or better, I honestly cannot recall the last two beers of the sampler off hand but they were at least C+ to B- quality. Overall, the beer was average to slightly above average.

The wait staff were awesome! Great service without being overbearing. The pizza was awesome. Well worth the visit. Will definitely revisit

This place needs more love. The food is always delicious (try the French dip) and the beer is consistently satisfying (total eclipse breakfast stout is a great one). But the greatest part of this place is the atmosphere and the staff who are always professional while being friendly. Everything is very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality

Cool location and if your a fan of breweriana, lots to look at. Service was very good and the food was as well. There were 10 house beers on tap and all were good, nothing spectacular but all solid. Wourth the visit if your in Toledo.

Very large place, and worth the visit for the memorabilia even if you don't drink beer. It is like a museum. There is a brick oven, wood-fired oven and some great food. The service was excellent, and they have carry out sales, including singles.

Vibe was 4.2.. just due to the fact that there were bartenders my girlfriend and I... Now I would give the 5 of us a solid 5 for having a kick ass vibe of our own. But I am in fact reviewing the bar. The beers were drank were really good, I had the Glass Hopper and the Blood Orange wit. And MI lady had the red said on and calypso lemon. The service was spot on excellent. And they had a nice selection of quality beers..
We didn't try any food...
I would recommend any and all go to Maumee bay Brewing...
