This is a good stopping off point if you are travelling up the West Michigan lakefront coast, or if staying in the small and chilled out town of New Buffalo. This is a fairly popular local spot, with a very decent selection of local brews on deck and good bar/pub food. Comfortable place to spend an hour or two.

Pretty decent spot I must say, first time in new buffalo and I dont have a car so its convenient that this place is right up the street (~1 Block) from the amtrak station. They have 21 taps here now (not 10) including Guinness on nitro, and the floors aren't wooden with regard to the previous post. Decent craft drafts featuring shorts, greenbush, a couplefew bells, lagunitas, harpoon, finchs, and four horseman to name a few. Service is great and friendly, and the food looks good but I only have money for beer :P Solid spot for the cutest little town, doesn't seem like I will find another craft brew pup anytime soon in new buffalo.

New Buffalo, MI overall isn't the biggest or flashiest town. But it is a nice place to visit. And the Stray Dog is definitely worth stopping into. They have local music their on a periodic basis. They have a nice restraunt area with wooded floors. Also, they have a screened in back porch area. If the weather is nice, you can sit out there and have a great view of Lake Michigan. The food is very good. I had the steak stuffed potato which was right on. Also, they have a most excellent IPA there that is brewed by Bell's but called the "Stray Dog IPA". I would strongly recommend it. The waiter seemed knowledgeable about the beer selection and offerings. Other taps included Bell's Oberon, Bell's Amber, Guiness, Harp, Bass, and a few other "major" craft beer selections.
Well worth your time to stop.
