Stopped in on 09NOV12 enroute to Burlington VT with Alewife and The Scheister. Had a couple of pints of this with lunch, at $4.75 per.

The shaker pint glass contained a deep, clear, rich amber/chestnut colored bier. Some garnet shimmered at the edges, and the head was tan and creamy. It ebbed slowly with nice lace left arrears. Nose was a little light, with caramel and malty sweetness most evident. The liquid was pretty smooth going down, though it was a bit less than medium-bodied.

Had solid sweetness in the flavor, with caramel and toffee being abundant. The rich maltiness had a bit of a nutty character blended in, and a hint of floral hoppiness at the finish. Quite nice! Prosit!!

On tap at the brewery.

Look - beautiful opaque dark color, some lacing, but no real head

Smell - roasted coffee notes

Taste - roasted coffee and toffee flavors

Feel - smooth start, medium to high body, some lingering bitterness

Overall - excellent dark ale - "wicked" good
