Poured from bottle into Hoppin Frog snifter. Date of review is 7/13/14.

Appearance- Pours a deep dark brown color. Like the kind of brown that is borderline black. Super creamy looking cardboard brown head. Lacing is amazing for a porter.

Smell- WOW! Peanut butter and chocolate are dominating everything else. I do get coffee in the nose too, but much less than the two first scents. It smells exactly like Reese's Pieces.

Taste- Not like the nose at all. So much more coffee and just as much chocolate. The peanut butter is now taking a backseat to the other flavors. Not quite as good as the nose had indicated.

Mouthfeel- Just a bit too thin for the style. I wish the peanut butter and chocolate flavors coated my tongue and throat more, but that's just not the case. The beer disappears as soon as you take a sip.

Overall- Very good offering from one of the best breweries on the planet. You just have to respect the things Hoppin Frog does. They are never boring, always experimental and producers of sought- after beers.

Pours black with a densely creamy tan layer on top. Smells like coffee with cream and sugar, freshly roasted beans, peanut butter cups, and some dark roasted malts. Flavor is sweetened coffee roast, nutty/fruity notes, vanilla bean, and a dry layer of peanut butter. Pretty sweet, but not terribly heavy or overly cloying. Creamy, frothy medium body. A really tasty flavored porter.

A- very dark brown, almost black in color. Lacing is minimal with a small amount of head that doesn't stick around long.

S- very strong coffee smell as soon as you open the bottle. Once poured into the glass the coffee smell gives way to dark chocolate with a hint of peanut butter. One of the best smelling beers I've come across.

T- roasted coffee beans upfront that give way to chocolate notes and a swirl of peanut butter.

M- Seems like adding peanut butter has solved the dilemma of the thin porter. There is an almost creaminess to this that is very enjoyable.

O- Hoppin' Frog crushed it with Infusion A. The balance of these three flavor profiles really sets this beer apart from any other coffee porter I've had. I still can't get over how amazing this beer smells! I look forward to future Tower Tuesday releases.

Poured into a Dogfish traditional oversized snifter. No freshness date.

A- Pours a mostly opaque black color with a 1/2 inch tan head that retains decently before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a large side patch of bubbly surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves small clots behind.

S- Smells like a Reese's peanut butter cup for sure.

T- Taste follows suit. It's like drinking melted down Reese's that's been mixed with water. The coffee only really shows itself in the roasty aftertaste. Coffee comes through more as it warms and helps balance out the sweetness.

M- Has the usual porter feel with medium carbonation and a fullish body.

O- Very good. The only thing keeping it from being excellent is it's pretty one-note. Also, I wish it was a bit more coffee forward. Still, if you want a Reese's Cup beer, look no further.

Dark mahogany with a thick, milk chocolate colored head.

The aroma of peanut butter wafer absolutely fills the glass, with a touch of roastiness and chocolate. Sharp, sweet, bitter notes of coffee and malt faintly come up in the background.

Super smooth peanut butter and chocolate flavors hit just the right levels without being too sweet. The roastiness of malt helps keep it sane, while at times it and the chocolate take over the peanut butter. The coffee is kicked up a notch in flavor as well, providing a little bitterness and touch of fruitiness to help make this a really scrumptious, hard to put down beer.

This is by far my favorite pb-chocolate beer. It is so luscious and rich in flavor and aroma, yet the feel is not too heavy, making it immensely drinkable. Maybe it's the coffee that helps it stand apart, but while chocolate and peanut butter might seem like a very rich and heavy combo, they aren't too much when paired with the lighter body of Silk, as opposed to if they used BORIS. While Frog's porter is quite a bit heavier than many others, its smooth texture is the perfect fit here.

22oz bottle poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a small khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and okay lacing. The aromas are awesome. Tons of roasted coffee blended perfectly with the peanut butter. Some roasted and cocoa malts in the mix. Smells so good. The flavors are great as well. The coffee really shines and the peanut butter seems to accent the coffee. Very roasty. The malts to their thing. Hints of chocolate. It's not that sweet and there's a subtle bitterness. Alcohol goes completely unnoticed. Mouthfeel is light with active carbonation. It's very smooth and very easy to drink.

This is an awesome brew from Hoppin' Frog. The coffee really shines, but the peanut butter isn't shy at all. Great aromas and flavors. Well done. Highly recommended.
