Hazy amber, nearing brown, with a short khaki head settling to a spotty film leaving craggy stalactites of lacing.
Toasty biscuit that's almost crackery meets mildly abrasive pine--nothing on the level of Manalishi, but fairly bitter and punchy--accented by flame licked grapefruit and musk.
Back in the day, (I'm talking 2015 or earlier), relative to their other far more harsh IPA entries--which all came out sparingly relative to their darker brews--I really liked this and considered it more of an East Coast IPA, with a fruitier, less bitter bite. However, having it today, my god is it a blast from the past, especially relative to today's hazy juicers, but even compared to their own Gangster Frog. While drinkably enjoyable, it still does give me old school Dogfish Head vibes, like something between 60 and 90 Minute.
I never thought I'd see this one again, but I'm glad they re-released it so I could give it a proper review. I'll probably revisit Hoppin' to Heaven a couple more times at the local taproom, but this only highlights how far things have come in the world of craft beer, and how welcome some changes have been. Their recent experimental IPAs have been more in line with modern palates, and I hope they make a permanent shift to those.

Bottle, ABV 6.8%, at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Cloudy deep orange to amber colour, moderate off-white head. Intense aroma of fruity American hops on a background of marmalade and American caramel malts. The flavour is sweet with notes of marmalade, with distinct American hops throughout. Bitter aftertaste. Okay.

22 oz. To pilsner glass. Very nice. Clear Orange with lasting off white head. Aroma is hops, floral, soil. Taste also has floral quality, but also a sweetness. Touch of honey maybe. A bumblebee’s paradise. A touch flatter than I would like, but it doesn’t kill it. Glad to see one of my favorite stout producers makes some other good beers too."

Came out a pretty color orange, but the amount of floaties throughout were disappointing, I dunno if I just got a super old extra bottle in a trade or what, but the color was nice, the yeast or whatever it was, that was not. No bottle date, not my problem.
Didn't smell hoppy, smelled yeasty.
Taste was fucked. Tasted hella old ipa, with a mutated yeast. Just bitter and sandwich like yeast.

Some citrus hops and lemony aroma, nice stiff head and sticky lacing. Pale golden, taste is mildly bitter with dry finish. A good in between IPA.(in between the coasts...ha ha)
