look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.75 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

P: 22 oz bomber poured in to a DFH tulip.

A: SRM is near black. Nearly opaque. Head is dark tan, foamy, 2 in, dissipates to cover the top of the beer.

S: Dark roast malt, chocolate, bourbon, toffee, vanilla.

T: Follows suit with smell. Great balance of ingredients and barrel aging. Aftertaste follows suit.

M: Good body fortified by barrel aging.

O: Great beer up front. Gets even better with age. Kinda pricey in Indy market, but have found this for much less in other markets. Fantastic.

22 oz bottle purchased from Half Time in Poughkeepsie, NY. Hoppin' Frog has some of the worst label art by a brewery I've ever seen.

Pours a thick, deep, motor oil black into my glass. Small but long lasting head.

Smells roasty, with sweet bourbon and chocolate.

Tastes similar, with lots of chocolate, some oats, bourbon, and a bit of soy sauce that is slightly off-putting. Other than off-note, great taste.

Full, thick, syrupy body- a meal in a glass. Low carbonation.

A great BA brew- but not their best treatment of B.O.R.I.S.
