Thanks to RocPorterFanatic for the bottle. Tasted 4 January 2014, reviewed from notes.

Pours black and thick, completely opaque. An aggressive pour yields one finger of dark-brown head; a more normal pour yields none. Good retention, decent lacing.

Smell is big and rich, a really nice balance of stout and bourbon. It's sweet and so smooth, nearly perfectly balanced, and almost as good as it gets. No complaints, but it's not quite as complex or robust as the best.

Taste is a little rougher, a little more bourbon-heavy, and less integrated than the smell. But it's still quite good, just a little on the rough side.

Feel is really good, though somehow it doesn't blend with the beer like I want it to. It's really heavy and thick. The carbonation initially feels like enough, but that's until the weight of the body and flavor settle in and drown out those weak little bubbles. Needs a bit more fizz.

A very solid barrel-aged stout. Could be better, but could be a whole lot worse. The integration of the barrel with the base beer in the smell is outstanding.

Thanks to smchenry77 for a bottle. 2012 vintage poured into a snifter.

A - pitch black with a thin mocha colored head that fades fairly quickly leaving a nice foam ring around the edges.

S - wow! Big whiskey aroma followed by vanilla, chocolate and roasty notes. Some sweetness too.

T - well balanced. Much more whiskey on the aroma than the taste. All the flavors blend together without one being too much. Upfront roasty notes with rich chocolate followed by whiskey and vanilla. Bitterness comes in on the end to balance the beer out. The bitterness does build as I drink more and more, almost too much. Maybe my only compliant. I get a warming on the finish but not boozy at all.

M - silky, smooth, creamy and pretty full bodied.

O - great BA stout. Great thing about this beer is the whiskey flavor blends with everything else and doesn't overshadow the other flavors.

Sampled from a 22oz bottle purchased at Triangle Wine in Morrisville, NC.

A - Deep black with a moderate head that dissipates quickly.

S - Bourbon, oak, dark chocolate and molasses.

T - The bourbon leads but doesn't dominate. It's joined by dark chocolate, molasses, brown sugar, coffee and a hint of sweetness. Good depth and complexity but not outstanding.

M - A little thin for the style. A moderate carbonation.

O - A good BA IS but given the price ($16-17 from what I've seen over several NC shops), it's just not worth it. By my calculation, this cost me almost 50% more than BCBS and it wasn't nearly as good. I think price should play a bigger role in reviews.
