250ml can poured into a tiny Forager snifter. Picked this can up on Tavour. Nice boozy kick.

Poured into a 12 oz thin tulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours midnight black with a finger plus sticky mocha head that leaves thin lines of lace, with nice retention. 5
Aroma is deep dark chocolate, expresso, vanilla beans, and warming alcohol. 4.5
Taste follows dark chocolate, strong black coffee, vanilla, and just a little alcohol in the bold finish. 4.75
Mouthfeel is big, maybe a little dry, plenty of carbonation, and at almost 16.0% it is bold, but still amazingly approachable. 4.75
Overall this is a treasure. You would never even know this stout is so big. Really incredible what they did with this one. 4.75

Pitch black pour with a light brown ring. Huge molasses and dark chocolate, with fig, bourbon, slight peat, mild earth, and oak. Taste starts with the robust roasted malts, earth, peat, leather and oak, before a washing of bourbon backed chocolate, and black strap molasses, then finished with fig and coffee. Nose more robust and traditional, taste sweeter and maltier. Feel is very warm with booze, body is velvet smooth despite massive roasted malt nature, oak decently rustic, light weight finish though

250mL can, I'm digging the small format for such a big beer. Pours thick with minimal head, just a thin brown rim around the glass. Smells... dry? Prune, tannins, fennel, raw cacao nibs, some herbal botanicals, and a touch of iodine and peat more reminiscent of a Baltic porter. I absolutely loved TORIS the Tyrant, but this might be a bit too much. The pure RIS essence and ethanol heat overwhelm the wee fudgy sweetness that helped to balance "lesser" versions of *ORIS. I'm hoping that, like TORIS, I'll prefer the normal version over the BA one.

250ml can from Tavour. Ebony pour, a few bubbles, then still. Sweet, boozy aroma, light notes of roasty malts and chocolate. Taste is strong and sweet, chocolaty, smooth consistency. More alcohol heat at the finish. Nice sipper at the end of the day.

Ink black, brown edging. Smells of dark fruit and bourbon barrel. Taste is roasted malt and dark fruit, with mild bourbon barrel notes. Medium bodied, clean, clear, and crisp, with a subtly boozy presence compared to the ABV.

Pours dark and thick, minimal mocha head. Malt aroma is so massive it smells like anise. Flavor is sweet chocolate malt, boozy bourbon barrel, spicy on the finish. Has a pervasive, gentle anise flavor. Very sweet and pretty damn boozy, but delicious. Thick and viscous, chewy, oily texture. Overall a great beer, love the manageable 8.45 oz can size.

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with wisps of dark beige bubbles covering the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of dark malts and licorice are present in the nose along with hints of alcohol.
T: The taste follows the smell and has lot of flavors of licorice and dark malts along with notes of bourbon and oak. As the beer warms up, notes of dark, roasted malts become apparent and linger into the finish.
M: It feels full-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer definitely tastes strong, but the bourbon helps to take some of the edge off the licorice in this Russian Imperial Stout.
