Crystal clear golden pour, with a finger of sudsy white foam and thick lacing. Aromas of cereal and pilsner malt, honey, and buttered biscuit. Taste is much the same but with a touch of caramel and mild dankness/skunkiness. Feel is malty, more sweet yet has a skunky feeling finish. Solid pils

excellent beer. Pours great, a thick frothy head. The taste is excellent a little sudsy for a lager but that's ok. Great Golden color. Right up there with Potosi gold if not better. It not to dark it's not to light.

poured from a 500mL can into a new glarus dimpled mug. pours a clear straw gold with almost 4 fingers of fluffy white head. smell is clean and bready albeit subdued. taste is similar with a stale bread taste. it almost has a nickel or copper flavor to it. mouthfeel is full and well carbonated. this is a good lager but i prefer quite a few others to this.

This is my most favorite beer. One of the oldest brewery in the world. My ancestry originated from about 5 miles away in the premium Czech hop growing area. Of course they were growing hops too! The brewery has the most incredible setting, just totally surrounded by hop farms as far as eye can see. It is very smooth, easy to drink with great hop taste. Make strictly from Barley, hop and water only, all ingredients 100% Czech. If you like Czech beer, this is the one to try. Unfortunately hard to get in the US.

L:. Pours a brilliant copper orange with a large foamy white head and an inch that stays on top. Very nice looking beer.

S:. Pale malt, notes of baked bread, floral saaz hops, smells like a Czech pilsner.

T:. Pale malt, baked bread, toasted seeds, floral saaz hops sit in the back. Very nice and drinkable.

F:. Crisp, light, and drinkable.

O:. This is a fantastic beer, very drinkable.

It pours a clear, deep golden body. Medium white head with tiny amount of lacing.

It has an aroma of pale malts, honey and grassy hops, with notes of butter and caramel.

The taste has grain, plenty of grassy hops and a little bit of butter. The finish is dry, with a mild, lingering bitterness. Medium bodied and smooth, with medium bitterness and average carbonation.

Smooth and crisp, with a notable hop presence.

De Tercertiempocervezas. En vaso de hefe de Bavaria. Jugando a Transistor, luego a Journey of a Roach. Muy buen feel. Sin ser un dechado de sabores, se bebe bien agusto y tiene un fondo maltoso bastante superior al de una pilsen industrial

I recently took a trip up to NYC for the weekend & while there, I made a side trip to Brighton Beach. If you have never been, it is full-on Eastern European & Russian with a host of imported foods & drinks on offer, including CANs of beer for The CANQuest (tm) & Kvass! I am often scoffed at for my interests, but I know what I like.

From the CAN: "Brewed for kings since 1581"; "The Krušovice Royal Brewery is located in the rural Žatec area of the Czech Republic, home to the world-famous Saaz hops. Their rich and aromatic flavor is present in every sip of our beer."; "Premium Czech Lager"; "100% Czech Original Recipe".

I was so anxious to Crack! open the vent on this one! I love drinking Czech/BoHo Pilsners in the Summertime. I tipped it up & beCAN a slow, gentle Glug into my awaiting glass. It foamed up beautifully to form just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with great retention. Color was an equally beautiful Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7) with NE-quality clarity, enticing The Gelt Gang of Midas, Mammon & Croesus to come in from the living room where they were watching MLB Network to the kitchen for a taste. Nose had the beautiful grassiness of Saaz hops & by now, my mouth was watering! Mouthfeel was medium, solid for the style. Beautiful! The taste was beautifully hopped, clean, crisp & dry. I CAN drink these beautiful beers all day during the Summer! Finish was beautifully crisp & dry. What a find & at a beautiful price. YMMV, beautiful!

Many years ago, I lived in southwest Poland, and visited Prague many times and several times encountered this old school Praha pilsner in various forms. This is a classic version of the style in many ways with its golden clarity and Saaz bite.

The late dryness in the aftertaste kind of hinders the otherwise solid Czech pils. There are floral and medicinal hops but they seem kind if snuffed out by the early drought. I kind of remember this as a harsh day after but I am hoping only one won't harm me too much.

According to the can's flavor-text the brewery is from the Zatec area of the Czech Republic, home of Saaz hops, and "their flavor is present in every sip of our beer." I will concur this is nicely hopped. Spicy floral with a lingering grassiness. There are prominent malts too, a wave of grainy sweetness peaks early and recedes quickly as the second wave of hop bitterness peaks a few seconds later and fades slowly. It's very good.

Pours a crystal clear dark golden color. Incredibly effervescent with a think pillowy white head. Head collapses on itself as it dissipates leaving an uneven hill of foam and sticky white lacing along the glass.

Aroma has notes of grain, sweet bread, light grassy hops notes and some light yeast notes. As the beer warms up it gets a nice lager aroma going as the grainy notes fade and you get that yeasty lager aroma coming through with some nice grassy hops.

Taste follows the nose with notes of grain, some bread and a grassy hoppy note on the finish. There is some sulfuric notes but nothing unacceptable. On the sweeter side with a honey like note to the flavor. There is a slight metallic flavor on the finish that was more noticeable when the beer was cold, but dissipated somewhat as it warmed.

Feel is light to medium bodied. Not as crisp as I'd like. Semi-dry finish. Moderately carbonated.

Overall this is a solid Bohemian pilsner. Fix that metallic taste and this would be a very good pilsner.

Look: Deep gold and very clear, with visible carbonation bubbles rising to the top. Two fingers of frothy white head that sticks around.

Smell: Distinctively hoppy, almost soapy. A little citrus oil and some light malt. A bit of noticeable yeast.

Taste: Bitter, but not overly so. Light malt, some straw and hops, and a metallic aftertaste.

Mouthfeel: Average thickness, a little below average on the carbonation.

Overall: A pretty okay beer. It would be better if they could get rid of the metallic aftertaste somehow.

Poured from the bottle into a Libbey style pilsner glass.

Shimmering, and bright crystal clear body color. Good streams of carbonation, through a very dark and unique orange bronze body. Bone to eggshell white head of a soupy simple two fingers, with a retention of one finger sticking around for a good time.

Muted hop angle, with a larger emphasis on sticky caramel and pasty lager yeast for the aroma. Not fusel burn on the nose, or sticky sweetness either. A pretty solid lager aroma.

Simple toasty and a bit of sticky to muted caramel qualities on the palate. Hints of bitter spice, but goes for more of a burnt grain and brown toast flavor. Finishes a bitter dirty and soil earthy in flavor, almost hinting at larger alcohol sugars, but doesn't at a simple five percent. There's a decent malt backbone to this, which seems to hint at thicker malt depth than our average pilsner, but everything else seems to be left behind not to catch up.

A very unusual czech pilsner, as the imperial certainly doesn't add much other than it seems in name and perhaps some malt body. I'd probably go for something else in this realm.

Golden pour with bubbly, foamy head. Pleasant carbonation. Smells yeasty, light bread and tastes on par for the style. Not spectacular beer but a solid brew I'd enjoy more with food taking center stage. Finish and feel fell short IMO.

The beer is a clear amber color with a soapy thick head. There is a good amount of small carbonation bubbles flying up the beer. The beer smells of light malts and a nice grassy hop aroma is there as well. Overall smell seems typical for the style. The beer is light on taste but then kicks with a nice lemon flavor with a bite of hops at the end. The beer is thin but has good carbonation.

500ml bottle purchased from Capital Market Salem OR $3.99 Pours a cleafr bright golden colour with large nice looking creamy/frothy white head. Typical Czech pils aroma biscuity malts, and floral/grassy hop. Standard. More balanced than typical ( but this bottle is 5 months old) with more caramel style malts..and the hops appear at the end. Palate it fairly typical for style also. Fairly typical Czech Pils....as always would be better fresh

Bottle.

A: Moderately malt with delicate, floral and slightly spicy Saaz hops.

A: Golden color, totally clear with a moderate white even head that has adequate retention with some light lacing in the glass.

T: Moderate maltiness with spicy and moderately bitter hops that are prominent, but not overwhelming which linger through the finish.

M: Medium-light bodied with moderate carbonation. Soft mouthfeel from the water used.

O: Solid; I prefer the dark lager over their classic pilsner. While tasty this beer is super delicate and does not always make it to California intact.

I drank beers from this brewery a lot when I was in Prague and I was amazed by how good they were and how amazingly low priced also. This “imperial” pilsener (the 5% is only a little bit above average) pours a copper color with a fairly thin white head that leaves a nice lacing, but quickly dissipates. The smell is very mild, but there is a slight malt and yeast presence and a little hint of alcohol also. The first thing that you realize about this beer upon drinking it is that it is surprisingly a solid medium bodied beer, which is unexpected given the lightness of the color. This higher body really plays to my tastes, but may not be well accepted by pilsener purists. There are some nice bready malt flavors, some yeast flavor, and a very mild fruitiness of apple followed by a hint of alcohol and a mild hop bitterness. This is a pretty unique and well balanced beer that reminds you of harvest time and goes great with the hearty Czech food. It’s definitely not as good out of the bottle as I remember it on tap, but it’s still pretty solid. It is fairly poorly rated on though, so I guess this is one case I don’t totally agree with. It may very well be that the flavor doesn’t hold up well when exported to the US.

500ml bottle poured into Sam Adams pint glass.

Pours a clear honey yellow with one skinny finger of off-white head that leaves a thick spider's web of lace as it recedes.

Smells of grainy pale malt, lemon zest, cut grass and leafy Saaz hops.

Tastes of unsalted cracker pale malt, dinner bun, faint sharp citrus and more grassy green nobel hops.

Feels light and creamy. Light bodied with finely frothy carbonation. Finishes dry.

Verdict: Recommended. Light and refreshing.

Saw 16.9 oz. bottles of this at a local beverage store for $1.99, so I decided to give this a shot. Poured into one of my pokal glasses, this beer pours a clear, medium golden color with a fluffy looking, white head that's initially an inch or so thick when first poured. Settles pretty quickly to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass along with decent lacing. Aromas of crisp malts and some earthy, floral, grassy hops. Has a nice, mildly sweet malt presence along with a hint of honey that gives way to a bit of a grassy flavor that is rounded out with a somewhat earthy and floral hop bitterness. Very good balance of flavors here. Has a crisp, yet smooth, slightly prickly, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean finish with a slightly dry and lingering bitterness. A solid beer here all around.

Pours gold, less pale than I would expect from a pilsner. Off white head on this pour. Good crackery and saaz-y aroma. The flavor is unfortunately not what I want from a pilsner. There is bitterness, but not that distinct spicy herbalness that comes from saaz. The bitterness is a little muddled. There seems to be an off flavor that hurts its crispness/refreshingness. Not a huge fan of this pilsner.
