Brought a can of Krusovice Imperial home from a recent trip to Europe. The beer was golden cleal with foamy white head to start, which then faded. There was some initial lacing but eventually that ceased as well. The smell was malt and maybe a hint of some czech hops. The taste begins with a smooth malt taste that just stays throughout the whole taste. Mouthfeel was good had nice carbonation and was medium bodied....smooth. Overall was a good beer and would recommend it.

500ml bottle:

The beer poured clear, darker amber/golden color that produced a big, slightly off white head that faded quickly into thin cap. The beer gave off a nice lager aroma, sweet malt and yeast. The taste of the beer was malty sweet as well, but also had a syrup quality to it, which was very unexpected. This contributed to the lesser feel rating. With that said, the beer was still rather smooth. I really wanted to like this beer. Maybe it just didn't travel well or maybe it was old. I am willing to give this one another shot as I am really into the style.

Bottle from Toom Getrankemarkt-Landstuhl. Nicely hopped pilsener, crisp and clear, with sharp finish. This is an easy drinker, smooth, and tasty. prime example of the Czech style

Poured into 10oz goblet. Poured a clean, clear golden yellow with a tall, fluffy white head that had decent retention and lacing.

The aroma was pleasant grain scent with none of the skunkiness that sometimes comes with this style. The taste was very similar. Balanced and neutral with a nice blend of grain and hop.

The body was typical for the style, clean, smooth and crisp. Drinkability was very good, you would want to, and could have several of these brews easily. Overall, a solid example of the style. Worth trying if you see it.

Bold gold with a light smattering of fine particles and a modest number of slow, superfine bubbles. The parchment colored head indicates quality with its firm structure, mesa-like appearance and better than average amount of glass decoration.

The nose is nothing more and nothing less than a typical, middle-of-the-road Euro pale lager. The brewery assigns it that style (although not in so many words) by not using the word pilsener on the label or the website. When I think of the pilsener style, I think of a hoppier aroma than this. Imperial smells like sweetish grain layered with a thin olfactory sheen of musty noble hops.

The flavor is more hoppy and more refined than the nose, allowing me to think of the beer as a pils after all. It's a good thing there's a decent amount of malt because the sweetness that it provides is needed to balance the firmly bitter hops. The hoppiness is nicely upfront and is the driving force behind the flavor profile.

The hop flavor is classic Czech noble. In this case, grassy more than floral more than lemon citric more than peppery. I was going to say that it isn't really spicy-peppery at all, but it's becoming more so with each sip. I appreciate the depth and breadth of the hop flavor and wish I knew exactly what hops are used.

I love finding interesting translations on brewery websites. I found the following on the KPK site: "an excellent foam" and "a significant sharpness". Correct in both cases, I'd say. I found another interesting tidbit on the label, something called the 'born by' date. Would that be 'born on' or 'best by'?

The mouthfeel is firm enough to stand up to the hop load and to keep the flavor from being too 'sharp' or astringent. I consider it medium-full for the style. Lively carbonation keeps the beer from bogging down and adds to drinkability.

Krusovice Imperial, brewed by the very important sounding The Royal Brewery of Krusovice, is an okay Czech pils, all things considered. Even with a much needed nose job it wouldn't win any beauty contests. Besides, given all the bitterness, 'Miss Congeniality' is a long shot. It's still a worthwhile beer.

16.9 oz bottle, blank born by date on back.

Pours a deep, rich gold with decent head. Diminishes fairly fast, with minimal lacing. Low carbonation as well, bubbles were gone very quick.
Initial aroma of lemons, and sweetness. Followed by a sweet, tart taste, but after its down, leaves an earthy, biscuity, very dry hop taste. The overall taste was also somewhat on the flat side due to the low carbonation. Not a horrible czech beer, but I'm sure there are better

Pours gold, less pale than I would expect from a pilsner. Off white head on this pour. Good crackery and saaz-y aroma. The flavor is unfortunately not what I want from a pilsner. There is bitterness, but not that distinct spicy herbalness that comes from saaz. The bitterness is a little muddled. There seems to be an off flavor that hurts its crispness/refreshingness. Not a huge fan of this pilsner.

A - Big bottle with gold foil around the bottle cap....always a classy touch. Pours a crystal clear gold with a huge fluffy white ice-cream head. Lots of honeycomb lace is left on the side of the glass.

S - Soft saltine cracker and salt aroma. Hard crusty baguettes and pizza dough.

T - Again, mild but crisp salty cracker and crust flavors. Saltier than most German pilseners that I've tried, and slightly less twangy too. Good firm cracker-like malts with crisp hops to balance it out. Very slightly metallic. Nicely done.

M - Medium bodied and slightly acidic. The low level of carbonation coupled with the salty but smooth flavor makes this "supple" to steal a word from the oenophiles.

D - Excellent, if a bit boring. I could drink a few more of these this spring. I'm not the biggest pils fan, but this is excellent.

A: Pours a golden, amber in color with a good amount of foamy head that dissipates to a thin layer of cream. Lacing is left around the glass as you drink. Very low carbonation.

S: Smells of sweet malts and grains, vanilla and some astringency.

T: Taste is similar to the smell. This is a very simple beer with a good sweet malt backbone and some dry hop crispness on the end.

M: Light in body with low carbonation. Creamy on the tongue.

D: This is a very drinkable, light and refreshing pilsener, but it really offers nothing spectacular and comes off a bit dull.

Bottle sample thanks to Milos- A medium deep and clear gold with a fizzy bleached white cap. Nose of grassy hops, saaz, lemon, fruity pale malts. Tastes quite hoppy and grassy, a bit floral, lemon and biscuit follow. Very clean tasting with a pleasant bitterness that lingers. A good session beer. Thanks Milos!

A: It poured clear golden yellow with a thin white head, which dissipated rather quickly. A moderate level of carbonation is visible.
S: There are light aromas of malt and noble hops in the nose.
T: A light amount of bitterness from the floral hops is the main flavor, but is nicely balanced by the underlying malts, which taste biscuity.
M: It feels rather clean, crisp and light-bodied on the palate. There is some dryness in the finish.
D: The beer is rather refreshing and easy to drink. I'm not sure if I would call it sessionable, because the taste was a bit bland and could not keep my interest for more than one.

Clear golden colour, medium white head, some lacing, pretty average. Aroma is malty with some hops in the nose, grass, straw. Flavour is malty, but more hoppy than the aroma indicated, grass and straw and also some funky metallic notes that spoils it a bit. Mouthfeel is crisp with medium bubbles and the liquid isn't particularly sticky. All in all a decent pils that for its price is good value for money.

App: Gold lager

Smell: I have had this beer numerous times, and like it much better off the tap. Smells like your typical Czech lager.

Taste: Good taste, but kind of soapy.

Mouthfeel: Nice, pleasant lagery kind of feel.

Drinkability: Tastes better after a few seconds even. Good, but not great.

Solid in a bottle, much better off the tap.

Golden yellow body topped with a thick, chunky, creamy white head. Lightly toasted malt grain and somewhat grassy smell. Grainy flavor with a smooth hop bitterness at the finish. Light and smooth body; crisp, clean, dry finish.

Krušovice doesn't break any new ground for the style yet is certainly quite drinkable and solid representation of the style.

Serving Type: 1pt .9fl oz bottle

Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange w/ no head but some visible carbonation. No lacing

Smell: Fresh grain and a touch of spice. Very subtle on the nose

Taste/mouthfeel: Starts w/ a big malty crisp flavour that gives way to a slight sweetness at the end of the beer. Malty bread and a touch of hops is what I get out of this beer...sometimes I get a slight smoke flavour. Rather interesting. Very clean tasting and cleanses the palate easily

Drinkability: Enjoyable enough Pilsner that I would have again

This beer was poured from a 500ml bottle at 40º with a born on date on the back label. It produced a slight, white, foamy head which left a little lacing while disappearing. A few small bubbles were still evident after 5 minutes. There was a slight gold coloring with tinges of orange.

Malt and noble hops are detectable at the very first encounter. This is a good example of an attractable pilsner bouquet.

The taste was clean with some sharpness. A slight bitterness could be attributable to the amount of hops.

The taste of malt lingered in the mouth and seemed to marry quite well with the hops. Although this was slightly sharp and bitter there was nothing off in the way it bounced around before being swallowed.

This beer was over a year old according to the born on date but still had a lot left. Lacing continued to impress and the total package was very well put together.

Light amber, foamy white head, some lacing and good clarity.

Sweet malt aroma & lager hops along with a bit of corn and grain. Other adjuncts also feature and there is a very slight skunky smell at the end.

Corn and grassy hops along with a semi-sweet taste and touches of citrus. It's not at all skunky tasting despite the aroma hinting at this and the finish is little bit bitter although very crisp.

Light medium bodied with a slightly rough feel to the drink and it had the normal lager bitterness with a slightly dry but crisp finish and medium carbonation.

This one was a average to slightly above average pilsener although miles ahead of most of the mass produced garbage you find in UK supermarkets these days.

Clear pale yellow color with a thin film of white head.

Grainy malts hit the nose, a vague underlying grapefruity hops smell comes in at the finish.

The taste is graint malt and acidic citrus. Nothing really spectacular about the beer, though it's true enough to style.

All in all, meh. I've had much better pilsners.

500ml bottle

A- Pours a dark golden orange color with an off-white head. A little darker in color than most Czech Pilsners that I have treid.

S- The aroma is grainy malt with some spicy grassy hops. Pretty standard for a Czech Pilsner, but that definitely is not a bad thing.

T- The taste like the aroma features some malt with a quick crisp spicy hop finish. Not bad.

M- The mouthfeel is light bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

D- I am a big fan of good Czech Pilsner beers. This one is very drinkable and one that I wouldn't mind having again.

Glassware-Pilsner glass
Appearance-Poured into the glass and got a golden colored beer that had a nice white frothy head that said "drink me up".
Smell-The smell had an inviting flavor of hops and a sweeter scent that lingered.
Taste-The taste of this beer wasn't what I was expecting consideing the appearance. it was average at best nothing to memorable here.
Mouthfeel/Drinkability- This beer is easy to drink no surprises here. If I am ever in that area of the world I don't know if I would try this particular beer but never say never.
