oh well, . . when you hear "Gold" the first thing you think is "the best beer brewed by the company or by the brand" you might think is something special you are drinking... in this case is not that time.

when i say minimun head, im really saying no head at all, it like opening a can of soda... lots of bubbles, thirst quencher etc etc.

good to drink in high temperatures, like my coutry, but CR is not that hot, oh well.
At least it name is use for something, with a gold, not bright but darker color, looks good, 4 tumbs down for the head, no smeel what so ever, mouthfeel is just average, nothing to be impress with.
i mean the beer is not bad, you can probably compare it to some Bud or Coors and drink like 38 in one hour, but that's not the deal here.

Poured from the can into a mug in Rincon de la Vieja. A classic looking beer, golden indeed and inviting in a mug coated in condensation. Smells floral and earthy and lightly crackery. Another classic beer aroma. Some apple, light white bread and crackers a little sweetness, tinge of floral and earthy hops. Finally a mass produced beer I can get behind here. Very drinkable. Crisp and easy goingbut still has a bit of character to it. Go for this over Imperial if you can. Even though it's the same company!

this one wasnt bad either, pretty similar to imperial, but a little fuller bodied and sort of generally beerier, whatever that means, less adjuncty and more hearty a little bit, i liked this one probably second best behind the pilsen of the national stuff these guys make. big foamy white head on a crystal clear but not super light looking golden beer, tastes like some of the canadian lagers, with just a little more substantial of a malt base than the imperial line, and still quite cris in the finish with a little sweetness there and a faint note of the lager yeast is all. clean and simple beer, a touch more satisfying, but also kind of lousy when it warms up, so its one to drink quickly. i liked the high carbonation this had, and thought i could even get a light bittering hop, european and sort of stale, but a hop note there nevertheless. probably not the hot weather pounder, at least for me, but a nice start the evening kind of beer and perhaps better in some food contexts than some of the less flavored stuff they make. in its category, i really had no issue with the gold at all, and actually quite enjoyed it.

350 ml can poured into a tumbler.

A- Gold and clear. Effervescent. 1/4" white head with good retention.

S- Malt aroma is a little grainy, straw, and a little fruity/apple.

T- Sweetness, some toasty grainy malt. Maybe a faint earthy hop.

M- Smooth, wet, really easy to drink.

O- Sweetness is a bit off, a little apple. But this is easy to drink and refreshing on a hot day.
