On tap at the Bruery 8th Anniversary celebration on 05/14 /16.
Roasted dark malt, cocoa, vanilla and a distinct sweet raspberry presence. An outstanding variant.

22 oz red wax-sealed bomber poured into a snifter
These bottles were included with the tickets to the bottle release.
A: Jet-black in appearance, dense and oily. A small caramel-colored head forms, maybe an inch thick, which leaves little islands of lacing as I gently swirl the glass.
S: Different nose than the rest of the series. The base aromas are still in there, but with added raspberry and no bourbon, it smells like a different beverage. Kinda reminds me of raspberry chocolate cake.
T/M: Rich and layered, complex and viscous on the palate. The added raspberry gives the brew a subtle, unripe berry note, which contrasts nicely with notes of dark chocolate and vanilla. Thick and creamy in complexion, but the berry note seems to add a bit a levity compared to the other varieties. Actually, this is probably the most drinkable of the Eclipse series, as the sweet aspects are offset perfectly by booze and oak. Closes with a surprisingly short finish with subtle residuals lingering.
