I've had this many times over the years and man can it be inconsistent. If its because of age, well that doesn't make much sense as I always drink it at the source. Either way, lets commence.
Comes in with those yellow and orange color mixture, head forms up, 3/4" and dies back down. When the aroma is kicking, its pungent, when its not, it leaves you feeling like its lacking.
Taste again, sometimes the hop feels are solid, sometimes they're lacking and it becomes a real bitter bomb. I mean, this stuff could be rated close to a 5 on a good day, but closer to 3 on a bad one. Whats a guy to do.

Thanks for sharing the growler, mjyoung. Reviewed from notes.
A: Pours a dark ruddy brown with a billowing, dense, cream colored head. Head had great retention and faded into a thick film leaving rings of lace down the glass.
S: Rye, spices, herbal hops, touch of grapefruit, and bread crust malt. Complex.
T: Big rye, very spicy and herbal tasting. Bread crust, grains, bitter hops, leafy and citrusy finish. The aftertaste is very spicy.
M: Medium-full body, bitter mouthfeel, smooth yet drying, normal carbonation.
O: Gotta love the rye. Definitely powerful and bitter. If you love rye you’ll love this, but beware it’s not as drinkable as a normal ipa.

I had this on-tap at Capone's during philly beer week. Served in a sample glass.
Appearance: Pours a cloudy orange/amber color with a layer of off white head that fades to a ring around the pour.
Smell: Some citrus bitterness with a mild spice note from the rye. Just a touch of malt sweetness, quite mild overall.
Taste: The dominant flavors here are some citrus peel hops with the rye spice. A good amount of malt sweetness to keep things balanced, I'm really digging the rye here.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with tingly carbonation and a dry finish.
Overall: I loved the rye note in this beer. I thought the balance was quite nice. Easy to drink, I would definitely have another.
