A bigger version of rockslide I guess, darker in color, aroma not as pungent with the hops.

Taste, definitely a good one, but I'd recommend checking out the single or ryepa instead. This one just does the big hop sweetness thing instead of giving me more of a hop mouthfull, I get hops with sweetness, heavy malt, more alcohol etc. . . You know how 120 minute is just sweeter and bigger than 90 minute and not in the good way? That's what I'm talkin' about.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured into a pint glass. Comes in at 9% and 100 IBUs.

A-Pours a hazy brown with a one finger tan head that has great retention and leaves a ton of lace. The color is not that great, but the head retention and crazy lace saves the appearance of this one.

S-Lots of hops in this one. Definitely pick up on some dank and some pine. It is not overly citrusy. I also get some bready notes and some caramel malt. It gets a little earthy smelling as it warms.

T-It tastes a lot like it smells. The dank and pine are present. Pineapple is the predominant citrus flavor. The bready and caramel malt are also apparent. I also get brief chocolate notes. It is a lot more sweet than dry in the finish.

M-Medium bodie and creamy. It has a nice soft level of carbonation. I found it to not be very bitter.

D-It tasted just fine, but the 9% abv would limit this one for me.

A fairly decent DIPA. I would order this again if there was nothing new to try.

Draught at the brewpub as Landslide Double IPA. Hazy amber-brown with a sticky head. Lots of hops in the aroma with mainly pine and grapefruit. Sweet as well. The flavor has pine and bitter grapefruit juice with a malty and somewhat sweet body giving way to a spicy finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Plenty of malt, but still mainly leaning on juicy and resinous hop flavors and bitterness. Properly bitter without being harsh. A very pleasant beer to drink.

If there's one thing I've noticed over the last decade or so, it is that 5050's hoppy offerings have a massive amount of variation. I mean, I drink their stuff solely at the brewery, so age shouldn't be a factor? Anyways, this comes in a hearty amber color, thin 1/5" head. Aroma is hoppy, varies significantly in how lush it can be. Pine for sure.

Taste hits the caramel notes heavier than their other offerings. This one is maltier, sweeter than the single ipa version. Fresh or when its at its best, it drops a good amount of amber malts and piney hops. When it isn't its just thick, caramel and bitterness.
