BRH is a great place to find starter homebrew items, all the way up to more advanced items for all grain. They can always answer your questions and we are lucky to see them moving across the street and gaining all sorts of new space. The only problem is that all the fertilizer for the hydroponics smell a bit. Makes it tougher to smell the grain or hops. Other than that, all is well at the BRH.One other thing that they do is host the local homebrew group to sample in the parking lot. This was my final push to start homebrewing in the first place.

As far as I know this is the best place within 50-100 miles to buy homebrewing equipment. The owners are very friendly and willing to help you get what you need, even if they aren't the most knowledgable (yet) at homebrewing themselves. I've had problems a couple of times in the past when certain malt extracts were out of stock, but this seems to be a thing of the past now that they have buckets of extract they will pour out for you. No problems here with the hop selection, a wide variety of pellets and plugs, or the grains. There is generally a good selection of yeasts, liquid and dry, at least enough that you can find a proper substitute if needed.

The building itself is extremely cramped, sharing space with a hydroponics section. So far I've been able to find everything I needed as far as equipment, with a wide range of chemical additives, cleaning products, flavorings, books, and hardware. I wouldn't expect to find much higher end equipment for brewing more than 5 or so gallons at a time.

Overall I'm very pleased that they acquired their equipment from the Vintage Cellar in Blacksburg and opened up shop closer to my home. They have been instrumental in setting me up with my newest favorite hobby.
