Poured from a 375 cork and cage into a snifter, the beer is a very deep, dark, brownish-black coloring with no head. Slick on the pour. Aromas of rich molasses, burnt toffee, rich bourbon, vanilla, subtle wood char, and a bevvy of old world fruit sweetness. Wow, is this one rich! Flavors are smooth and sweet forward, with a solid blend of molasses, toffee, caramel, hints of chocolate, and old world fruit. Notes of date, fig, plum, and raisin all blend together perfectly, with vanilla highlights and subtle char accents. Some earthy characteristics here and there, as well. Wow, this is a beast! The body is chewy, smooth, and slick, with a very heavily sweet aftertaste of all the malty notes drenched in the bourbon characteristics. Tremendously layered, even through the slow, slick, coating finish. This is a big beer, but never becomes too big to enjoy. Layered throughout, making for an entertaining sipper. Great beer!

Got a taster cup at Snallygaster DC, 2016
Look: Dark brown/black, with little head that dissipated quickly, with lacing around the cup.
Extremely sweet, malty, caramelized sugar. No sign of alcohol at all.
Feel: Intense sugary sweetness that would overpower most dishes. Go best with a sweet chocolate dessert.

A: This poured an opaque cola with no head whatsoever.
S: It smelled like rich dark chocolate and caramel and roasted nuts, with some toasted coconut and nougat and figs and oak.
T: It tasted like rich dark chocolate and caramel and roasted nuts, with some toasted coconut and nougat and figs and oak. It had a clean and sweet aftertaste.
M: It was watery with no carbonation. Flat body.
D: This was an excellent brew with complex and delicious scent and taste. The body was weak, but the finish was smooth with well hidden alcohol, so it was easy to drink but worth sipping. It could age a while but doesn't need it. Fresh was solid. Recommended.
