Pours a dark brown color with a slight tan head about a third of a finger thick. Head dissipated quickly away. Smells of roasted malts and lightly of caramel. Tastes of malts, a little caramel, touch of light roasted coffee, and a slight bit of hop bitterness. Light body, a little carbonation, easy drinker. Really solid beer, would go great at most bbq's.

L - deep brown with a medium tan head that doesn't really stick around
S - caramel and malt. Roasty. sweet and very pleasant.
T - Rich malt and caramel with a roasted/toasted butty flavor throughout. A little earthiness throughout as well.
F - Medium body with a medium amount of carbonation. Smooth but somewhat thin.
O - A very nice brown ale - hits all the notes you'd expect from a brown ale - caramel, with roasted malt and a nutty taste throughout.

It a deep, not quite clear brown with what comes out as a fizzy light tan head. You think it can't possibly last but somehow it settles down to a thin layer the persists and leaves some small soapy lacing. The aroma is a little soft, but it does have some hints of roasted nuts and a little dark sugar. The taste is similar, a little less nutty and sweet but with a big helping of earthy hops. It's medium-light bodied with a thin carbonated tingle and a mostly smooth mouthfeel.

A: Dark red-brown, like mahogany, but clear. Head was rather thin, and lacing likewise.

S: Some mild aromas of dark bread, but not much else (perhaps the meager head didn't release the volatile compounds needed to really appreciate the aromas).

T: Mild malty sweetness, then a lot of toasted grain. Some coffee. The faintest citrus flavor. Hops bitterness is way in the background, but does show up in the finish.

M: Moist, but nicely carbonated.

O: A really solid American ale. Pairs nicely with cottage pie. I'll be buying more of these.

12 oz bottle, bottled 12/14/15

pours a dark brown, but with no head. looks like flat cola. very mild aroma, just a little sweet. flavor is well balanced - bready and mild caramel flavor. thinner bodied, I'd like thicker.

Poured from a bottle into a nonic glass. Has a deep brown color. Nice smell and ample lacing. Did not detect much hoppiness. This brown ale surprised me. I did not expect it to be anything more than average but it fooled me. I will definitely buy this again.
