a deep brown pour (almost black) with a finger of tan colored head. smells of coffee, cocoa, a slight cherry hint, molasses. the taste is excellent.. a sweet, easy drinking stout full of chocolate and nutty flavors. slight wood charred taste as well. the coffee is so subtle but constant.
medium body with low carbonation making it an easy drinking beer.

this is an excellent stout. great tasting and goes down TOO easy!

Got as an extra in a trade.

Poured into my Allagash tulip black with a thin head.

The nose is sweet, coffee of course, but more like a cappuccino than black coffee. The sweetness lingers and presents an almost caramel and toffee nose

The taste matches the nose sweet, with a big coffee flavor and an almost toffee finish.

Overall a solid coffee stout, I can't say I've every had a coffee milk stout. Nice

Bottled 1/15, consumed 2/4.

Pours a very dark brown, near black, thin but attractive head.

Smell is all rich coffee at first, backed up by lightly roasted malt. Give it some time and some sweet chocolate and vanilla appear, but the coffee is front and center.

Taste is more of a balance, still plenty of coffee but there's also milk chocolate, vanilla, sweet lactose. Well balanced, good coffee flavor but not a coffee bomb.

Slightly less carb than I'd like but still a nice and silky mouthfeel and good drinkability.

A great coffee stout that isn't totally dominated by coffee. Very good!

The antigua coffee gave this a great smell and a seepingly black look. less than 1" head, the beer while looking thick and creamy as a traditional stout was suprisingly light and smooth. Less carbonation than a Surly Coffee bender and smooth finish. Almost appeared as a leftover coffee sitting cold in the pot from the morning.

If you aren't a coffee fan, i wouldn't recommend this beer....

S: Dark coffee, some roastiness, deep earthiness.

L: Dark black, dark tan creamy head that dissipates. Some lacing.

T: Bitter coffee up front with some chocolate notes. Low bitterness with a very pleasant, almost milk sugar note along with milk chocolate. Finishes semi-sweet with chocolate and some roasty bitterness.

M: Medium full body, medium bodied.

Not bad, coffee was pretty subdued except in the aroma. I actually like the lactose/milk chocolate notes better than the coffee.

Poured into a Hard Rock Cafe pint glass straight from Boston,MA at 55 degrees.

A: Has a dark dark brown hue to it, almost transparent when looking through any angle of the glass, but still maintains that its brown and not "pitch black" as many stouts.

S: Smells like high quality cold black coffee on ice. Also get a dark chocolate characteristic on the nose.

T: Tastes like perfect cold/vanilla/wood coffee. Its just fantastic if your a coffee drinker and love beer. Its the first time I'm enjoying Guatemale antigua coffee beans, but I likey.

M: Mouthfeel is a bit oily, but very suitable for the beer's ABV and what it is trying to achieve.

O: Guatemala needs to be noted by craft breweries who want to pump out a sweet and savory coffee stout. The antigua coffee beans put a new characteristic into this brew that is hard to parallel. Its one of my favorite light stouts on the market and the bonus factor goes to that its only an hour from me. Keep pumping out the stouts, AleWerks...they far surpass anything else you make.

on tap at barrel house - served in pint

Pours an opaque blacked out color with a thin crop of beige head. Fades out completely while leaving some patches of lacing on the glass.

Eruption of sweet coffee scents with roasted beans, cream, vanilla and cocoa. Milk chocolate sweetness, dark malts and molasses.

Well balanced coffee and chocolate right up front with a milky kiss. Sweet, but not cloying, vanilla, cream and mild dark malts. Decent backbone riddled with nutty coffee beans and cocoa. Finishes clean with lingering coffee bitterness.

Fuller medium body, decent carbonation, creamy and silky on the tongue. Pretty impressive for a milk stout, especially with the coffee adding a completely new dimension to the profile. I'll definitely be drinking this again.
