Pours into a large tulip glass a honeyed orange color with a smaller head than expected.Mild yeasty spiced esters and light tropical fruitiness in the nose.I like the flavors they don't punch you in the palate but give nice restrained fruitiness and yeasty notes,it's actually very easy to drink for the style. You would never know this was 10% alcohol here.

No bottle date, but this is being opened about a year after purchasing. Poured into a snifter

A- pours a bright and slightly hazy golden color with a small creamy white head that reduces to a small layer, no lacing left behind. Not the typical big foamy head expected from the style

S- powdery belgian yeast gives subdued aromas of sugar candy, banana and clove, toasty malt with grainy notes, light phenolic note. All of the aromas are there, but seems to be held back

T- sweet malty notes up front with some belgian sugar, clove and sweet banana. Faint phenolic notes kick in before finishing slightly sweet with a hint of alcohol

M- medium body with low carbonation, creamy mouthfeel with a smooth finish, just a touch of abv warmth at the end, alcohol is hidden well overall

O- Easy drinking triple, doesn't rival the world class example but worth a try

A finger plus of quickly receding plush light khaki colored froth with a bit of an audible fizz... Once faded there is a lopsided half crescent of thin lacing and a thin collar.... The color is a slightly hazy light bronzed peach color... Still with no noticeable carbonation... The aroma is quite exquisite albeit a bit timid... Belgian yeast and honey dominate... There is a slight candied sugar sweetness... Dried fruits, namely apricot... Big flavor... Lots of fruity notes... Honey... A big boozy characer as well... Medium to full bodied... Starts a bit lush and finishes with a slightly intense dryness... A rock solid offering from Williamsburg Alewerks, a brewery that I've grown quite found of over the years... I can recommend this with clear conscious...

On tap at the Whole Foods in Vienna, VA

Poured a yellowish, slightly cloudy amber. Head is adequate, thin lacing

Smell is not pronounced, ok

Taste includes plenty of funk, the boozy alcohol expected from a 10% brew, but well balanced. Some banana and flora notes in the aftertaste

Overall a good example of the style

Poured from the bottle into a tulip glass.

A muted apricot orange, opaque, with lots of fast rising cola large bubbles at first. Settles to some slower carbonation along the edges. Head is creamy white makes only a bare two fingers tall, but settles to a creamy thin puck.

Nose has a nice spicy sense, with matching Belgian candy like sucrose. Clean, a little bit of fruit of apple and pear slightly. Fairly solid and good, some warmth gives some spritzy orange soda sweetness which is really nice.

A good solid palate. Nice rich orange fruit fills the mid palate with sensing sweetness of sugars. Wine like sort of character a bit, but the malts give a lot of depth. Not much aftertaste on the finish, with a moderate carbonated body. Good hint of booze but still in control.

Pretty solid go to tripel, I am not blown out of the water on this one, but it's worth a repeat visit and is pretty much to style.

The beer pours very little head. The beer itself is a very nice amber color that hovers between light and medium, but leans more towards the medium part of it. The beer color is pretty nice to look at even though it's a bit darker than a traditional tripel.

The beer smell is absolutely fantastic. The beer has some very tropical notes that comes off as pineapple with a bit of light hop bitterness. The Belgian sugar really comes out and there seems to be a bit of a boozy note too. Also, the yeast's fruity note is pretty strong.

The beer taste is very similar to the smell. The beer has a very tropical taste to it that reminds me of pineapples and mangos. The taste has a light hop bitterness to it. The Belgian sugar is fairly strong in the taste and that hurts it a little bit. Also, there seems to be a slight alcohol note present through the entire thing that detracts from the overall taste.

The mouthfeel is fairly smooth and surprisingly light. The biting carbonation is also nice and makes the beer feel even lighter while adding some texture.

Overall, a pretty good tripel and one worth trying but you won't be missing anything super good if you don't.
