A- Very dark brown, nearly black. A large head initially shows a good amount of carbonation.
S- Sour cherry smell dominates. Some darker malt hides behind the fruitiness. Slightly earthy funkyness is also present, but the fruity sourness is definitely the main smell.
T- Chocolate and toasty malt flavors are fairly balanced with the cherry sourness. Sourness is not too sharp or vinegary. The funky/earthy smells are not very strong in the flavor.
M- Dry with a short finish. Medium-high carbonation.
O- The chocolate and dark malt flavors pair well with the cherry sourness. Unfortunately it's a little bit one-dimensional. There are many other beers that are more sour and more complex than this one, but it is a decent sour beer.

Clear mahogany colour. Fruity nose, tart, slightly nutty and oaky. Tart initially, bitter twang to it, sour green apple skin, figs, sticky fruit, bit of bitterness and earthiness in the aftertaste.

Amazing sour ale!! Everything you could expect from a gose, Flemish or Flanders plus barrel aged which adds an earthiness, much like a burnt sprig of Rosemary off in the distance.

A sour brown ale with minimal smell and lacking much flavor.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy dark reddish brown color with a 2 finger dense khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tart cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, chocolate, toast, balsamic vinegar, oak, hay, grass, leather, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, dark malt, and oak barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big tart cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, chocolate, toast, balsamic vinegar, oak, hay, grass, leather, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness. Fair amount of fruity/acidic tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, chocolate, toast, balsamic vinegar, oak, hay, grass, leather, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice balance and complexity of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, dark malt, and oak barrel flavors; with a great sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth and fairly creamy/acidic mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent sour brown ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/acidic/funky yeast, dark malt, and oak barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on with the balanced acidity. A very enjoyable offering.
