Reviewing the 2014 version.
Pours a lovely, pale, clear copper with a pure white head that quickly fades to some spotty lacing.
The aroma is loaded with citrus, pine, pineapple, a little dankness and a hint of malty sweetness in the background.
The taste is loaded with fresh hop flavor. Still, it's not overpowering. Piney and dank hop flavor with a hint of citrus in the taste and plenty of malty sweetness to back it up.
Mouthfeel is medium and well carbonated.
Overall, a tasty brew.

2015 Review (ratings above)
Nice aroma, but not too strong, hints of juicy hops. Light amber color, well carbonated. 1 inch slightly off-white head that recedes quickly. Mouth feel is substantial for the style, but the hops are low on flavor, higher on bittering; not what is really expected of a fresh hop ale. Initial taste is mild, malty even (like last year) with an odd flavor that is not unpleasant; just odd. But the bittering hits quickly and lingers into the aftertaste fading slowly. The bitterness is not overpowering in and of itself, but it is the predominate characteristic of this beer over hops flavor or aroma. I wasn't particularly impressed with this year's 100 Yard Dash.

15/22S/167/14/2222 date code, tasted on November 5, 2014. Your guess is as good as mine as to how old this beer was. My tasting leads me to think this one may have had some age on it.

Dark amber color, moderate carbonation, small off-white head that fades quickly, but has good lacing. Aroma is citrus hops with bready malt.

Initial taste almost a British malt followed by hops piney bitterness, with the bitterness lingering into the aftertaste. The mouth feel is thicker than expected for the style, with the maltiness dominating the initial taste.

Due to the initial maltiness, which does hold up throughout, this beer is better balanced that a typical American IPA, but it is still dominated by the hops in the end. The hops taste is more resin than citrus, despite the aroma.

I really have no idea how this “fresh hops” IPA compares with what is expected from a “fresh hops” ale. Whatever the fresh hops are supposed to bring, this seems more like a standard IPA, except that the British-style malts are more present that with a west coast style IPA. In other words, I got nothing but a normal IPA with better malt balance.

I really like the almost British bitter-style malt presence. Even so, given the price demanded for this six pack, it will be difficult to justify buying more.

This is a good beer. It poured a copper clear with thick white head that is leaving a lace. The has fresh hop that is leaning toward bitter. The taste carries fresh hop and alcohol with a bread malt base. The mouthfeel is medium in body with smooth carbonation. Overall this beer is sessionable and worth a try.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange amber color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, caramel, biscuit, light honey, and floral earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good complexity of citrus/floral hops and fairly balanced malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, light pine, light honey, and floral earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, floral, grass, caramel, biscuit, light honey, light pine, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice balance of citrus/grassy hops with moderate malt sweetness; with a good malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice wet hop ale. Good balance of citrus/grassy hops and moderate malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.
