Was a bit surprised by this one in a random mix 6er while visiting family in MSP. For my predisposed expectations it was exactly what is expect from an oatmeal milk stout. Thick khaki head had outstanding retention. Wasn't overly sweet on the nose, just right amount of sweetness on the taste. Had hoped the oatmeal would've added a bit more body, but it was on the thinner side like a traditional milk stout. I'd definitely grab again, but maybe not a full 6er.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a standard pint glass. Deep, blackish black in color with chestnut highlights. An aggressive pour yielded three fingers of light tan head that receded rather quickly, leaving no lacing. Aromas and flavors of dark roasted malt, burnt coffee, cocoa, and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is silky smooth, with some lactose sweetness and fruity tartness on the palate and tons of roasty bitterness on the finish. Very well executed, and a pleasant surprise.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with decent tan head. Nose is chocolate and coffee. A little watery in the mouthfeel. A little too bitter for a milk stout.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/6 inch head of an off-tan color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong sweet malt, strong chocolate, oatmeal, hint of roasted malt, slight alcohol, and a hint of yeast. Fits the style of a Milk / Sweet Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. There is also a roasted bitterness. Tastes of strong sweet malt, strong chocolate, oatmeal, hint of roasted malt, slight wood, hint of liquor, slight alcohol, and a hint of yeast. Overall, weak appearance, but good aroma, body, blend, complexity, and feel.

The color is reasonably dark, and the head, while not ultra creamy, is acceptable. The taste, however, is not. There is just enough burnt malt bitterness to make the taste unpleasant, and insufficient hop or sweet malt to balance. Good try, but needs to be fixed.

Dark brown, lighter to the edge, almost no head. Aroma was like they switched beers on me, no roast, no coffee, no lactose.

Taste finally hit some lactose notes, very minimal. Sweetness is kinda weird for me, less like sugar/lactose, more like coffee sweetener packet. Mouthfeel could use more 2 row. Delving into brown ale territory.

No off flavors, this was meh.

Sampled this past Saturday on 12/19/15. Had this a couple times in the past but never did a review on it so here it goes. Comes in a 12-ounce bottle and bottle chilled down to 36 degrees F in my beer cooler and poured in to a "It's 5 O'clock Somewhere" pint glass.

Brew pours very close to a pitch-black in color with a thin beige head. Decent amount of lacing is seen when sipped, which was a surprise since the head was small. Lots going on with the aroma as there are dark roasted malts, hint of coffee and brown sugar. More going on with the taste as there is some vanilla and caramel in the mix also. Good balance of the flavors with nothing over powering anything else. Finishes slightly dry with the coffee and milk sugar near the end. Overall, a very tasty brew. Lighter side of medium-bodied with perfect carbonation.
