Dark brown with no light passing along the edge. Lasting, but small head. Minor lace considering--some small spots and streaks.

Dry, dark chocolate smell. No coffee to the nose.

The taste is dark chocolate with no essence of coffee. Lots of black patent malt providing the bitterness. Highly carbonated with a neutral body. The finish is dry with a bitter chocolate flavor.

Pours very dark brown with almost no aroma and a head that clears away quickly....tastes more like coffee than anything else....is interesting at first with slight bitter finish. OK but not sure I'd drink too many of these in the future.

Pours a dark oily black with moderate lacing.
Smell is mostly coffee with a hint of cocoa.
Taste is sweet roasted malt. Coffee flavor that turns into
semi sweet chocolate.

Was a bit surprised by this one in a random mix 6er while visiting family in MSP. For my predisposed expectations it was exactly what is expect from an oatmeal milk stout. Thick khaki head had outstanding retention. Wasn't overly sweet on the nose, just right amount of sweetness on the taste. Had hoped the oatmeal would've added a bit more body, but it was on the thinner side like a traditional milk stout. I'd definitely grab again, but maybe not a full 6er.

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a standard pint glass. Deep, blackish black in color with chestnut highlights. An aggressive pour yielded three fingers of light tan head that receded rather quickly, leaving no lacing. Aromas and flavors of dark roasted malt, burnt coffee, cocoa, and dark fruit. The mouthfeel is silky smooth, with some lactose sweetness and fruity tartness on the palate and tons of roasty bitterness on the finish. Very well executed, and a pleasant surprise.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark brown with decent tan head. Nose is chocolate and coffee. A little watery in the mouthfeel. A little too bitter for a milk stout.

Pours a clear, dark brown color. 1/6 inch head of an off-tan color. Slight retention and slight lacing. Smells of strong sweet malt, strong chocolate, oatmeal, hint of roasted malt, slight alcohol, and a hint of yeast. Fits the style of a Milk / Sweet Stout. Mouth feel is smooth and clean, with a low carbonation level. There is also a roasted bitterness. Tastes of strong sweet malt, strong chocolate, oatmeal, hint of roasted malt, slight wood, hint of liquor, slight alcohol, and a hint of yeast. Overall, weak appearance, but good aroma, body, blend, complexity, and feel.

The color is reasonably dark, and the head, while not ultra creamy, is acceptable. The taste, however, is not. There is just enough burnt malt bitterness to make the taste unpleasant, and insufficient hop or sweet malt to balance. Good try, but needs to be fixed.
