Pours a rich golden colored body that is light on haze but heavy on carbonation. A thin, white cap (see what I did there?) rest on top leaving little behind in terms of lacing.

Interesting. Has a pleasant funk to it and reminds me of a farmhouse ale with a Belgian yeast presence. Musty wheat and bananas make way for light coriander and clove and crisp citrus notes.

After the fantastic aroma, I was prepared for an awesome beer.. and found myself a bit disappointed. The only flavor that comes through from the nose is the musty wheat. A bit of bubblegum and hints of honey complete the picture.

Crisp and clean. Smooth and well carbonated light-bodied beer.

Not a bad beer by any means, however, I wouldn't actively seek this one out.

Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tall Summit glass.

Appearance: Pours a bright and clear golden orange with a moderate amount of bubbles. About one finger of white head that fades into a thin patchy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing around the glass.

Smell: A yeasty wheat driven aroma with nice citrus and spice hints. Wheat and pale malt upfront with hints of grains, straw, yeast, biscuit, and slight caramel. Hints of coriander and clove spicing. Citrus hints of orange peel and lemon zest. Also some fruit hints of banana and bubblegum. Mild hints of earthy hops in the background. A nice and crisp aroma.

Taste: Like the aroma, a crisp and refreshing wheat driven taste with fruit and spice notes. Wheat and pale malt upfront along with some Belgian yeast. Notes of grains, straw, caramel, and biscuit. Taste of coriander and clove spice. Fruit taste of banana and bubblegum along with citrus notes of orange and lemon zest. Light backing of hop bitterness. A nice wheat ale taste.

Mouthfeel: Light bodied with a moderate amount of carbonation. Crisp, clean, and very smooth.

Overall: A pretty decent take on a wheat beer. Nice fruit and spice presence. A good lighter summer brew.

Pours a clear golden color with three fingers of head that fills the glass wonderfully. The head slowly settles to a thick cap. Heavy lacing is left down the glass. The beer certainly looks like a winner.

A bit confused by the aroma. Smells more German than Belgian. Not that I am complaining. I get hefeweizen aromas of banana, bubblegum, and cloves.

Not sure what I am tasting here. One part hefe, and one part spiced ale. I get more banana and cloves and then the coriander finally makes an appearance. Just the slightest hint of orange peel in the finish.

Feels a little thin. Has nice carbonation.

This weird beer turns out to be a nice summer drinker and that is what matters in the end.

355 mL bottle served well-chilled; a random single that I picked up on my last trip State-side. Probably an old bottle, but I can't make heads or tails of the packaging code to verify this assumption.

Pours a bright, golden-blonde colour, with a foggy complexion and topped with one finger of frothy, bone white-coloured head. It wilts slowly, leaving a smeared curtain of lacing behind and eventually culminating in a thin, bumpy layer of foam at the surface. Nice aroma on this one - wheaty malt sweetness, banana and orangepeel form the bulk of it, with accents of coriander, clove and yeast. Some popcorn butter notes.

Unfortunately, this one smells a lot better than it tastes. That diacetyl 'popcorn butter' flavour I mentioned earlier is a little more pronounced on the palate than on the nose. Beyond that, it's a fairly prototypical wit - wheaty malts, some honey sweetness which leads into some banana and orangepeel. Mild coriander spice in the finish, with a somewhat yeasty, earthy finish. Light in body, with moderately restrained carbonation that leaves this wit feeling a little flatter than I prefer from the style. Quite drinkable, and quite forgettable.

Final Grade: 3.38, a B-. I'd be willing to try a fresh sample of Brau Brothers' White Cap at some point and adjust the review accordingly, but until then I'll have to classify it as a mediocre wit. Even in this (very likely) 'aged' state, it's drinkable enough and certainly no worse than the macro equivalents.

Even though I am a big fan of a couple of other Brau Brothers brews, I find this offering to be very mediocre. Will not buy again.

From our brew brothers in Marshall, only next door to where I'm living, I get to try a Crystal Wit "White Cap" Witbier today.

Appearance (3.75) : Stable 2 finger head, leaves thick lacing on the glass. The body is a honey golden color, containing only the slightest of haze which is disappointing, but hey it quacks like a wit and it talks like a wit, so...

Aroma (4) : Now this is interesting. Roasted honey barley in every sense of the word, honey bourbon, oak, cherry woods, just a fresh, woody, roasted smell.

Flavor (3) : Oak, toasted malts, a kick of honey, some spice, a little vinegar at the end. Some faint orange peel and coriander mixture begins to surface the more I drink it. The beer overall mostly has woody and honey tones. Adhesive also and some medicinal flavors that kick this beer down a notch or three.

Mouthfeel (3.75) : Very juicy, creamy, a little spritz of carbonation underneath. Ends woody and semi-dry.

Overall : Some glaring issues with this beer. There are much better Wits out there.

This beer pours a clear golden color. The head is an inch of dense bright white foam that recedes slowly leaving sticky lacing along the sides of the glass. The aroma has a ton of orange peel with enough coriander to balance things out and add some depth. The taste is considerably weaker than the aroma. There is a tangy wheatiness that detracts from the nice orange and coriander notes. The mouthfeel is thin with a high level of carbonation. Overall, this is mediocre beer that I will pass on next time.

This is a pretty solid ale.
Good appearance with appropriate color and nice, smallish, white head.
Complex aroma with spice, some fruit and wheat and some yeast.
Tastes are similar to aroma. Good solid drying makes it quite refreshing. However, I keep coming up with the thought, "I should add some fruit to this", so I'm thinking it needs a heftier slice of fruit flavors (orange, lemon) to offset the drying. HInts of hop flavors.
Otherwise a nice mouthfeel with fluffiness and softness before the drying.
Better than I anticipated and going quite well with the return of some heat.
