I cam across this beer while traveling in Florence, Italy at a small wine bar. Fabulous Italian beer but I don't event know how to classify it. It was a dark amber beer, almost a stout, evidently made with an ancient spelt wheat grain. The taste and body were incredible. Following is the description from their web site: "Original and unique that encompasses all the flavors of a unique territory as the Garfagnana. Beer spelled fragrant and balanced, very aromatic flavor. The moderate hopping enhances the spelled and barley malt. Pleasant to drink, even alone gives all its unmistakable taste. Ideal as an aperitif or with seafood appetizers." I hope I can find this beer in the U.S..

Pours amber with a large fading head.
Nose shows pepper, floral and herbal notes. Unorthodox but enticing.
Flavours include mroe of the peppery/herbal/floral notes along with a sweet gingerbread character.
