(330 ml blue bottle, code 8114 J 10; purchased cold... poured into an Innis & Gunn fluted goblet)

L: tall, two-finger high, tight white pillow of foam atop a rather cloudy pale yellow liquid - now this is what I expect to see in a wit... head doesn't hold as long as expected, but it does lace thick and crusty

S: popped off crown - skunked!... once poured in glass, the skunk persists, but rather lovely, potent, perfumy tones of the citrus and subtle coriander push to the fore... the skunk may linger in the background, but overall the aromas are inviting

T: interesting taste at first... rather wheaty like a puff pastry and colored in flowery tones... by the second sip it's definitely growing on me... dry, lemon-zesty aftertaste, coriander gradually builds... the skunk essence does vapor forth onto the palate while going in for a sip, lingers a little in the aftertaste, but the full flavor of its core elements sound loud enough to drown it out - if you'd had Heineken enough over the years, this little defect shouldn't distract much, but it'd of course be preferable without and I'm sure make a noticeable difference

F: foamy and fluffy, fleecy soft; subtle powdery touch, delicate little spicy tickle at the back of the palate... not much in need of adjustment - easily gulpable

O: wasn't expecting such restrained intensity, color, and quality in flavor - might be one of my new favorites... gotta find cans though - can't help but think I'd rate higher off that

Goes down easy, but has an extremely weird smell/taste combination. I get reminded of the jelly-ball air freshner chemical smell when I smell it!!

Look: Very hazy, cloudy golden yellow with a small white head that quickly dissipates.

Smell: Yep, this one got skunked. Stop putting your beers in blue bottles, people! A small amount of spiciness is detectable.

Taste: Mild, creamy malt with faint citrus zest. There's not really any skunk on the nose.

Mouthfeel: Decent thickness, very high carbonation.

Overall: What could have been a pretty decent beer is hurt by the manufacturer's ignorant insistence on bottles that lead to skunking.

Pleasant, light aroma. Floral with some spiciness to it with hints of citrus - lemon perhaps. Tall, thick, creamy white head from a fairly vigorous pour into a weizen glass. Hazy yellow, with slight golden hues. Nice looking beer. Leaves plenty of thick lacing on the opposite side of the glass as you drink. Moderate feel. Lemon and coriander taste, with the floral notes also. As with the aroma, a pleasant taste, if a bit subtle. Just a slight bite with the initial taste that does not persist. Finish is mild and floral and just a bit sweet. A good middle-of-the-road wit. As an aside, the blue bottle is certainly attractive. IDK how well it protects the beer from light.

Very hazy golden hazy appearance with some small sediment chunks visble. A small white head that goes maybe one finger seems to be a creamy packed white head. Nice lacing on the glass.

Smells like citrus and some spice as well. Maybe coriander for the spice. For the citrus it varies from orange to a bit of a lemon smell. Also getting sweet white bread.

Taste is very much like orange peel and coriander. Kind of a creamy malt flavor in there and picking up some slight hops as well.

Mouth is medium and creamy textured. Finish is like a lingering wet finish.

If you like the Witbier style that runs along the Blue Moon line you will probably like this one. This really seems like a French version of Blue Moon. For creativity points this one would go low. For quality of imitation and quality of product this scores very nicely. So go out and grab you a six of this very nice French Blue Moon beer!

Almost a fabricated soapy chemical orange taste, flat and very uninspired.

On tap at R5 Micro Bar in Akrureyri, Iceland. Respectable lighter beer, actually got peach coming through.
