Bomber, poured into an imperial pint glass

A - Think cloudy (can barely see the carbonation rising up!) Deep orange. Head dwindles down to a frothy thick packed half inch layer of foam

S - Bready malts on the nose, touch of caramel, floral and pine. Decent, but faint

T - Bread follows through in the taste as well. I find a little bit of bitter in there, but a lot of malt coming through mostly. Faint pine, tiny bit grassy. The hop profiles are not coming out the way I would expect them too.

M - Thin, a bit slick on the tongue, but then creates a chewy feeling in the mouth.

O - I anticipated a bigger hop presence. In a quick google search, I wasn't able to find much information on the brew.

That aside, I think this was off the mark to be called a legitimate IPA; the bread and chewiness is just a bit too much for me (when seeking an IPA). I think it needs to be refined, sharpened up, and more hop forward.

Sidenote - the reviews seem to be all over the spectrum more than usual, just an observation on this particular beer. I've had Leafer Madness several times on a consistent basis. However, this is my first time having Delta 9. Ill perhaps have it again for further judgement!

Reviewing here instead of using "Hads" so that beer can get sufficient reviews for a grade.

Pours a clear amber orange with a nice white head, although it quickly fades.

Nose is a mildly assertive simple orange honey; soft. The nose is not at all typical of the style, although pleasant.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied and with nice carbonation.

Flavor profile is the most complex and the most problematic of this one. There is almost no front palate and then a pine dull bitter hits you in the mid palate and carries over into a pine, cooked grapefruit bitter finish. The flavor profile is not bad although it would be much better if there was some brightness - there is a dull character that takes away from this.

Bitter pine finish is long lasting and not all that appealing. Again, very dull in character.

Appearance. Pours a rich gold-orange with 3 fingers of off-white head that leaves some patchy lacing.

Smell. Grainy malts and caramel, tropical fruits and floral hops with a little citrus and cedar.

Taste. Sweet grainy malts, tropical fruits and floral hops, some oranges and grapefruit with a little bit of bitter citrus rind in the finish.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with below medium smooth carbonation.

Overall. A decent ipa with good balance.

Cloudy amber with three fingers of dense off white head. Amazing head retention and lacings.
After the initial pour I had to go outside for 15 minutes or so. When I came back there was still a good one finger of head!
Smell is floral a bit of pine and some light grains.
Taste is bitter pine resinous hops with an above average malt base for the style. Some tropical fruit and pink grapefruit but not very prominent.
Mouthfeel was more full than most IPAs and carbonation seemed low. Made for easy drinking but no spice of pepper on the tongue. Medium dry slight leather bitterness in the finish.
Overall an exceptional appearance and a bit down on the other points. Could be old or not so well kept. No date on the bottle. Would like to try a fresher version.
Says unfiltered and bottle conditioned. Second pour I timed the head retention at 12 minutes.

Bottle picked up tonight at the COOP ... Poured into my new Cigar City snifter... nice little glass ... Thanks Ditmier!! 2 finger head.. the brew is slightly hop hazed deep orange... great retention and lacing.

Nose is citrus zest.. and citrus blossoms.. reminds me of lime zest.. lite but present bready pale malts.

The flavor is a bit odd for me, but I still like it. The bitterness sorta shows up front and lingers straight through the finish... it seems to blow out hop flavors a bit... a good pale malt push helps elevate the citric hoppiness, but is beaten pretty heavily by the bittering hops.

Body is about right for the style... small bubble carbonation is everpresent.. pretty nicely done.. I like this one... not a world class IPA yet, but on the right track.

Really not a bad flavorful IPA. Huge aroma is the best feature. Slightly sweet with a lot of malt. Bitter with a spicy tang. More aromatics fill the nose. Flowery and piney. Tastes very fresh, and if they said it was dry-hopped I'd believe it. I would pour a tiny splash in a little glass and tell your swill-drinking buddy, "this is what hops smell like."

Not excessively bitter. Very friendly and drinkable. Won't win any death by IBU awards but it is totally full of hoppy flavors and aromas. A bigger beer than the ABV would indicate. 22 oz bottle from Best Damn beer store in San Diego.

Poured from a 22oz bomber into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint glass. Muled back from Idaho by mrmarmot.

A: Pours a clear golden color with golden hues. Mildly aggressive pour leads to a 2 finger white head that dissipates slowly. Lacing is plentiful.

S: Citrus hops not much malt and a weird soapy smell.

T: Follows the nose along with the soapy flavor. I can't tell what it is but it's not great.

M: A little overcarbonated, not a great feel not terrible either.

O: A very average IPA. Not great, not awful.

Bottled: unk

Amber on copper with persistent peanut foam. Grass, resin, pine, and hints of pepper on the nose. Malt rides second string. Flavor is bitter with plenty of sweet crystal malts and a bit of alfalfa flavors. Simple flavor. As it warms it becomes more one-dimensional. Medium bodied with reserved carb and a dry finish. Meh, I'd drink in a pinch, but wouldn't pick over many others.

A: pours a dark amber with ample head and good lace
S: musty piney hop scent as well as Copenhagen juice...kinda weird
T: slight malt up front with a big time piney hop bite. The hops aren't the freshest ever. Also tastes kinda hop extract was added.
M: medium to full bodied beer
D: this is a different ipa to be sure. I don't think it's the freshest. Reminds me of that frankenlou beer from silverton though this is prob better. Not sure if ill be able to drink it all though.
