In Dallas for business and found Lone Star in my path to my destination

Located in a strip mall, parking right at the front door. Walk in and it looks like a cross between a beer store, convenience store and head shop from my teenaged youth. Smells like a head shop . Saw stacks of beer and a cooler. Walk in the cooler and you are greeted by a wall of craft singles. And stacks of Craft 4 packs/ 6 packs . Upon exiting there a few other beers on display with an emphasis on German imports. The friendly guy behind the counter asks if he can help me find anything and i ask for Jester King., grab me a bottle and he points me to some special releases from rahr & sons and Martin house. Grab those two, too. Great service, quality and selection. Recommended if you happen to find yourself in the area

Upon entering the store, I was greeted by the attendant who was very eager to help and very knowledgeable of not only his inventory but also the BA rating of various beers on hand. The selection was very good and of high quality

I visited Lone Star Beverages on the way from Dallas to Norman, OK on the recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad he steered me to them! What a great store and what great guys! Rick and Sam are obviously passionate about craft beer and they go out of there way to make sure you have a good experience. Upon entering the store, Sam and Rick asked me if there was anything in particular I was looking for and when I mentioned I was from out of town and looking for TX and OK beers that I cannot get back home, they proceeded to give me a personal tour of the store and highlighted local beers that I should try. As far as selection it seemed like they had pretty much everything you could want. Huge selection of beer in the front when you walk in and a huge walk-in beer cooler with 4 packs, 6 packs, bombers and 12oz singles that were all very well organized.

They also gave me great recommendations for places to eat and drink in the Dallas area. I ended up buying about a case and a half of beer and stopped back in on the way back to Dallas to purchase a shipper for the bottles that I did not drink over the weekend.

I've been in stores where you feel like you are bothering them for asking about certain beers etc but these guys were the complete opposite. It felt more like hanging with your craft beer friend who has been at it longer and has all the best beers and just wants to share that beer, enthusiasm, and passion with you. Cannot be said strongly enough: Great guys, great store. I will be back and I will be sending my friends as well.

Amazing selection that includes the walk-in chilled beer cave with 2 rooms stocked floor to ceiling with the best bombers, 6-packs, 4-packs, and singles available to Texas. Looking for something in particular? Ask for help from the great staff that truly know their brew. I also highly recommend that you check out both their Facebook and Instagram if you are looking for a rare release that you know is on the way.

This place is a diamond in the rough. You will not find a better place than this in the north dallas area. Sam and Rick run their store like I wish every store would. The first time I came in I really got a sense of them having an appreciation of the community as opposed to selling you their beer and then being on your way. They have a good sense of conversation and letting you know what has arrived and what beer is selling quickly so you can get your hands on some.
Weekly tastings and getting the freshest beers are what stands out to me about this place. Do yourself a favor, if you're in a reasonable radius (I live 20 miles away) make the drive, grab some beer, and chat with Sam and Rick. You'll be back

No long description is needed, they are the best store in the metroplex for craft beer by far. They treat people right AND get all the great beer.

I can tell Rick takes great enjoyment in running one of the finest beer stores in the Southwest by the zeal he took in showing me around and making sure I didn't miss a thing. This attention to detail and customer service is something sorely missing in the craft beer world, as standoffish as it is. If other retailers took half as much effort and interest in the client, then there would be some more money to be made I'm sure, and some very sophisticated and happy consumers.

Ok, enough of the spiel, let's get to the details.

Beers up front and the rest is in the back as it should be. Has a section for new beers, and you get an idea of the overall selection as soon as you walk in due to product placement. Prices were missing on some of the beers, which did cause me to pass over a few. There's a huge walk-in fridge stocked with fresh, cold IPA and other fresh-centric brews from across the country, all sorted by geographical region. Rick pointed out some new locals, and after trying them I can say he was spot on.

Selection was excellent with a nice array from all the big wigs and quite a few gems from the large regionals (Brooklyn, Boulevard, Clown Shoes, Firestone etc.). Belgian/Foreign selection was also well-represented. Of course, all Texas breweries of consequence were out in force and lotsa Blakkr available. Prices were a tad higher than normal, but not excessive by any means. You get what you pay for, and I can't begrudge a man for charging for worth.

Can't wait to stop back in the next time I"m in the Big D.

I used to go here for beer whenever I lived closer to Carrollton. Lonestar has a great selection of beer and gets the rare releases whenever they come out. The only complaint I have is the prices, but this could be due to the city they are based in (?). In fact, Lonestar probably has the best selection in the DFW area in terms of rare beers and also quantity. There are a couple of staff members who are very helpful and polite, but there are others who are the opposite. For that reason, I prefer to go elsewhere, although it's by no means a deal-breaker.

Stopped in to check out the selection and I was very in impressed for the DFW area. These two guys really know there stuff and are great people. This will be my "go-to" beer spot when I am in the Dallas area. If there is something you want but don't see certainly ask they are more than willing to help you find it.

The only place in North Dallas that gets everything.

A: Weekly beer tastings, well labelled selection with ratebeer scores for most beers, staff selections, this place has everything.

Q: Huge walk in cooler for customers to get cooled beer or same selection on non-cooled shelves, you can get exactly what you want here.

S: All the staff is very helpful, they will hold beers if they aren't extremely limited, answer all your questions and give good suggestions if you aren't sure what to try. They also drive to Houston and Austin to pick up beer that isn't distributed up to DFW, only place to get most of this stuff in North Texas, that fact alone should give them a world class rating.

S: Read above, only place in DFW to get a lot of Houston and Austin beer, and they get everything distributed to town.

F: N/A

Value: Its not hte cheapest, but you get what you pay for here.
