Ive been to about 10 liquor stores in the Morris County area and these guys have the best selection. They have the largest refrigerated area and their selection of singles is unmatched. They have a number of hard to find singles a number of them foreign. Foreign beers often dont have bottled dates so its hard to figure out how long theyve been there but they have them. I often check out beer websites trying to find various craft brands and these guys are repeatedly listed. Store is a good size so beer is laid out well and stuff isnt crammed in and crowded like in a lot of other smaller places.

Off of RT 287, you walk into the store and everything is in the back except for one row in about the middle of the store perpendicular to that cold beer row. Some glassware and a bunch of singles sit in there. Fair amount of craft and some macros. I'd say good quality all about. No one asked me if I needed any help but I tend to never care if anyone asks me or not. I'd say pretty good selection, some newer NJ breweries there that I never heard of. Also, I saw Kane there. I thought Kane didn't put their beers out on the market, but hey, I'm not worried. I'd go back here.

Right off 287 highway, and fairly easy to get to with the exception it's a bit of a traffic jam on the exits.

The store is quite largely sized, and relatively straightforward. It's not real special looking, there's a lot of stacked cases around as well, but at least half the store is filled with beer.

Selection is pretty solid, but contains much of the regulars and a few nice additions. You can get High Point Brewing brews here, which are the Ramstein beers which are actually brewed in nearby Butler.

Service here is also very good. They will allow you to break up sixers but you have to ask first, and will easily help you find anything without any smug attitude.

Real nice store, definitely worth a look if you are in the area.

Surprised to find I haven't done a write-up of this bottle shop, which I have been frequenting regularly for over 5+ years now. The store is large and clean inside.

The staff has been nothing but helpful every time I've been there. They always ask if I need help finding anything but will let me browse as long as needed. When I needed help picking out a keg for a party, they brought me into the back room where they keep the kegs cold and showed me what was available. (Ended up with a fresh sixtel of Sly Fox Pikeland Pils. Yum!)

The selection of both domestic and imported beer is excellent. Especially the imported stuff, I haven't found many other shops in NJ that carry as much as they do. As for American craft, they get the majority of new releases and sought after beers, although I have found that they keep the really sought after stuff in the back, you just have to ask for it. Prices are always on point too.

This is one of the better stores in NJ and a personal favorite of mine. It's always worth the weekly/biweekly stop just to browse and see what's new.

PS- If you're a whiskey fan, as I am, they have an incredible selection at great prices located at the opposite end of the store from the beer.

This is a very good bottle shop. It's large, and the beer is spread out over a fairly large area. The craft beer selection is large and this store often gets good supplies of hard to find craft beers. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. I grew up in the area and enjoy shopping here.

I have stopped at this store several times, usually on trips to Baltimore, but have not been there in a year. It is a fairly easy on/easy off from I-287 going south. I learned about it from an ad they ran in Ale Street News, then checked it out here to map the location etc.

Half liquor and wine, half beer in what may have been at one time a large grocery store (?). An amazing variety of beer, mostly with labels with info beneath sixpacks and singles. Prices vary from a little higher than I'm used to in Western Mass. to great buy, especially for sale items, which tend to be numerous. There is also a good stock of singles for creating your own mixed six, reasonably priced for the most part.

You are not likely to be approached for help, but if you need any, seek it out. Checkout is usually quick and easy enough.

While visiting my friend and his adorable baby, I found this location through BA and decided to stop by before getting to my buddy's home in Florham Park.

The booze and wine is pretty neatly organized here, but the beer... man, there are open cases pretty much all over the store. Can you say disorganized? Lagunitas, Duclaw, Dogfish, River Horse, Captain Lawrence are among the names I spotted. They just open the case, expose the bottles and leave it there. Not a fun of that practice. Lagunitas Sucks warm, really?

The wall of coolers has packs from all the big-name breweries, including Sierra, Dogfish, Stone and more. Good prices! $8.99 for 4-pack of Dogfish 90.

Past the coolers, they have a nice big wall with bombers, imports and more packs, including shelf talkers with BA ratings. There I saw Brewdog Paradox Jura, several Harvest Ales, Italian crafts, Big Bad Baptist, Lost Abbey (ten brands)…

Disorganized as I said, though, and too much room-temp beer. Plus the service- indifferent guy with a bit of an attitude and his coworker who didn't give much of a fuck. I was taken aback quite a bit.

It's not easy to find stores that carry a large selection of craft beer in this area and this is a great one. There is a full wall of singles and a pretty nice selection of 4 and 6 packs that rotate fairly frequently. Decent cold selection too. I am always asked if I need assistance and find the staff realy helpful (if you're into whiskey, ask for Mark - he's amazing). This store keeps getting better and is a top bet for craft beer in the area.

Vibe: While it is mostly a wine and liquor store, a large part of the store is devoted to beers. They have their own parking lot and its a quick easy off and on from I-287 southbound if you're passing through the area. The store has shopping carts and baskets.

Quality: All of the beers were stored out of direct sunlight.

Service: On several occasions, staff passed by asking if I needed any assistance. The cashiers at the checkout seemed rather friendly and took care of loading up cases for you.

Selection: This place has a sign outside that said to check out their beer wall and they weren't lying about it. The entire left side of the store is a long shelf of beers, nearly all of which are singles. There is a good representation of both domestic and imported beers, including a lot of hard-to-find beers. Just about every beer had a detailed label on the shelf below it, providing some additional information.

Value: Prices seemed very reasonable compared to other stores in the area. They offered a 10% discount when buying a lot of bottles.

This is my go to place for beer since it is very close to where I live. Their selection is great, their prices are pretty good depending on what you buy, and the people who work at the registers are very friendly.

My only complaint is on limited release beers is that they A, don't put them out and B, won't sell them until the "guy who puts them in the system" is there and puts them in the system. I've missed out on stuff I was looking for because between the time I was there and was told to come back and the time they put them in the system, it was all gone. I would prefer a sign up list or a tweet/Facebook post saying that it will go on sale at a specific time. In my opinion, limited release stuff is getting a bit out of hand so this complaint isn't that serious for me.

Overall, to have a great store like this so close is a blessing. Large selection of Bombers, cold beer, and six packs. Could use some more singles for sale but usually I'm up to buying a bomber, 4 or six pack and trying it with friends.

This is one of my main stores I frequent.

The staff is courteous but never really had a great beer convo in this store. They'll check on whatever in the back for you no problem. The selection is pretty awesome for the area. They carry all the bigger craft selections (Stone, Founders, Left Hand, Great Divide etc) and most NJ breweries (River Horse, Flying Fish, Cricket Hill etc) and plenty of imports. This is probably on the upper echelon of bottle shops as they get almost every big release (Doom, KBS, Enjoy By, etc) but unfortunately it does sell quick.

Their bomber wall is expansive and stretches probably over 30 feet long with some 4 and 6ers mixed in. That's where I do most of my shopping. They also have a smallish mix a 6 that you can usually make a decent 6 pack from. I'd say its a bit on the pricey side for a bottle shop but it is what it is.

Good beer's a shame I had the worst customer service experience here of any craft beer store I have ever visited. I'm a 23-year-old beer enthusiast and touring musician, and I actively search out the good stores in every town we come through on tour. I've stopped at the Liquor Outlet in Boonton several times before, but due to the rudeness with which I was treated by their staff today, they have lost my business forever.

This time, some members of my band were under the age of 21 -- but seeing as I was the only one interested in craft beer anyway, they didn't mind waiting in the van while I perused the selection in Liquor Outlet for my personal consumption. After about 30 minutes of scrutinizing the Belgian section, I finally selected three rare bottles which I had never seen before. When I brought them up to the front to check out, they asked to see the IDs of the other 3 guys waiting in my van. When I explained that they were underage but this purchase was for my private enjoyment, I received accusing looks and an apathetic response from each of the two cashiers and the manager. Definitely could have done without that. Of course, I've heard of this store policy before...but could they have said something before I wasted 30 minutes examining their stock? And I would have understood the suspicion if I was purchasing three 1.75 liter bottles of low-quality hard liquor, but three bombers of rare/expensive craft beer? Seriously??

I was treated like a lying, conniving miscreant instead of the loyal, enthusiastic customer I truly was. I understand they are trying to be a responsible liquor retailer, but their execution of this policy today was nothing short of disrespectful and insulting.

I had heard about this place before, and I saw it at a pretty nice spot on the top list of stores in NJ. I work a few miles away so I decided to finally check it out. I honestly was not very impressed. I walked around for a while just to scope out their beer, one guy said hi to me but usually in a store that promotes having craft beer like they do, they'll ask if you need anything etc. The selection also was not great. I would've scored it lower but the thing is that compared to the average store it's really good. But compared to other stores in NJ, the craft beer (especially anything that could be considered remotely rare) is decent at best. If you're going to get a 6-pack or 12-pack of Sam, Ithaca, DFH, etc. then this is a great place. But if you're considering making a drive out here to see if they have any goodies then don't waste your time.

I'm fortunate to only live about 5 min away from this store with usual traffic. Excellent store, close to an unbelievable selection for the size of store. When you walk in, the right side is all wine and all things bottled liquor that isn't beer, the left side and whole center-floor isle in the back, just in front of the fridge is beer.

All the way to the left, against the wall is the rarer stuff: imports, craft beers, big-celebratory sized bottled beers. When I first went to the store, I didn't look all over and assumed their selection was average and scant. That assumption is wrong. I wanted Innis & Gunn, which is hard to find everywhere, THEY HAVE IT. I wanted to try breweries like Nogne, Aecht, St. Bernardus, Wolaver's, Ridgeway brewing, Belhaven, Weihenstephaner, etc....THEY HAVE THEM! Many smaller stores and especially chains just do not have this stuff. Great store for the beer drinker that loves to test and try out that new potential gem.

I'm sure there are stores in existence, obviously, that have even more selections, but for the size of the store, they seem to do it right and take care of all crowds. If they had a bigger building, with the current job they do in stocking..I'm sure it'd be even more amazing. Staff has always been helpful, fast lines even when the line is almost out the door, it's basically a slow constant walk to the register.

I like that, unlike most local stores close by, they have a website specific to the store in my area and you can find out what breweries/companies they sell by searching the site without having to pick a person's brain. Another cool feature of their site, although never utilized by me as of the ability to place an order online which you can then pick up at the store.

It takes me roughly a half an hour to get here from my home, which would prompt the question, why go there? Aren't there any local places just as good?

The answer is no. There are a few places that almost come close, but not quite.

You walk in, and if you look to the right, you have wine & whiskey and accessories. Look to the left, and it's beer heaven.

Walk to the back cooler wall. From the right, you have your 'NASCAR' beers (Coors Light, Budweiser, Miller, that ilk). As you move left, you're looking at craft beers from all over the US and all over the world. More brands and styles than you could shake a stick at.

In the back left corner, there's a cooler full of single beers, likely their most popular. You'll find enough styles so that if you need to have a beer right away, you can get one to suit your needs.

On the leftmost wall, it's craft beer heaven; all kinds of styles and countries and states are represented. It's a sight to behold. You'll hear the chorus of angels.

The staff is polite and helpful, but young for the most part. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but do you want to have an in-depth beer conversation with a 19-year-old?

One thing they do is notify customers of special one-off beers, and they allow you to reserve a bottle if you're a preferred customer. It's a nice perk.

My only wish of this place is that it were closer to me.

Stopped in as I was passing through the area and was very impressed with their selection. Two long aisles filled with craft beer on either side along with chilled craft beer in the back. I was asked twice during my visit if I needed help which was nice.

I spotted 4-packs of 3 different Sixpoint ales: Righteous, Sweet Action and Bengali Tiger; all of which I grabbed instantly. I also saw a nice selection of Climax Brewing Co ales in 6-packs (ESB, IPA, etc.). Other breweries represented on the shelves were: Sly Fox, High Point, Southern Tier, Defiant, Capt. Lawrence, River Horse, Founders, Great Divide, Avery and Cisco to name just a few.

I didn't spot a tremendous Belgian/German/English section though they seemed to have the mainstays. Looked like the store was heavy on American craft which is fine by me.

Overall, this was a great find and I really recommend it to anyone passing through for some harder to find beers like Sixpoint and Defiant.

Mark and Kevin (the beer guys) really know what there doing. If they don't have something just ask and if it's available they will get it. The employees are friendly and very helpful with cute chicks at the register. There prices are as low as I've seen anywhere in NJ. Great selection of 6pks and 750mLs from US and international. No other place about NJ like it. I found a many choices for Rouge including a XS size bottle of a nice IPA I was looking forward to. Also found good choices of Microbrews that I had never heard of. I'm already planning my next trip.

I didn't find a Russian River brew that I have been seeking, but I was told that I could call the beer manager and possibly request some specialty stuff that can't normally be found on the east cost.

The Wine and Liqour selection also seemed pretty good, but I think the place should be renamed based on the fact that most of the store was taken up with beer. One whole wall was filled with 750mL big boys.

I walked to the back of the liquor store where the usual stores have their beer section. I must say, they have a huge selection of refrigerated beer, which is quite cool. (no pun intended) The six pack prices were a little cheaper than the other stores I have been to; I was thinking I hit a gold mine.

To the left of the refrigerated beer is a decent wall of beer. I was a little disappointed, they didn't have any single beers for purchase. They had the bigger bottles from all over the world. They do have quite a selection, a lot better than the average liquor store.

I mentioned the good prices on six packs but for the bigger bottles the prices were quite steep. A lot of the bottles I saw, I did see at other shops for a few bucks cheaper. The one unique thing about the store is, on a laminated piece of paper below the bottle, they tell you what type of beer it is, if the beer is light or dark in color, the main tastes in the beer.

The customer service wasn't bad. I was asked if I needed help or if I was looking for something in particular.

Overall, I would go here again because it's the next town over from me. They have a nice selection but nothing crazy. Is it worth an hour drive? No. I'm sure you could find some better places along the way if you decided to take an hour trip.

Unreal, I didn't have a lot of time, I was in there maybe 20 minutes but I didn't even scratch the surface. Prices were very well marked and most seemed reasonable. Someone asked me if I needed help but I hadn't even had the chance to find the rare beers so I brushed him away. I picked up some Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast, Guiness FES, Founders Breakfast Stout, Brooklyn Choc Stout and a Rochefort #6. I could have picked out so many more but I had to draw a line for today. There had all the locals. Even had Bear Republic and the Bruery from Cali. All the Stone beers of course except I didn't see any Verticals. All beers can be bought single even if only found in 6 packs. Many cold beers in back as well. I live about 30 min away so I'll be back.
