Presentation: 12 ounce brown bottle with a twist off cap, looks like the BA Database picture. The neck has an inkjet code (date?) of 31902 1202.

Appearance: Really cloudy copper-orange body, so cloudy I wondered if this one had gone south or not. Thick cream colored head which has a lovely pillowy texture and leaves some silky lacing. Average levels of conditioning.

Nose: Caramel aromas are heavy with a buttery Devon Toffee odor.

Taste: Biscuit laden malts with a faded hop profile that builds with some toffee and a finishes with a sweet bread ending. A little sourness but not enough to warrant a sink pour and it has a bitterness to it - ever had a bite of a bitter Granny Smith apple after eating a mint….well it was like that. Crisp finish though.

Mouthfeel: Middling with a decent enough feel but the buttered toffee feel in the swallow is a little too much.

Drinkability: Not that enamored with this one to be perfectly honest.

Overall: Described on the label as a “Classic American Ale” well it is far from a classic in my book. Pass.

Pocono pale did not impress right off the bat. It poured a dirty murky peach/brown. The head was next to nothing and faded to exactly nothing quickly.

The nose had significant bread tones with some dashes of citrus and sweeter cider.

The flavor had the same wheat bread taste, with some lemon zest. The finish had a lingering bitter aftertaste, but not the good kind. It surely didn't warrant another drink.

The beer was overwhelmed with carbonation, to the point where it interfered with the flavor.

This one has been occupying my pint glass for too long, so its time to either slam it or pour it into another receptacle.... the drain.

crystal clear pale amber with a white head that cleared quickly leaving just a tad of lace. Smell was slight earthy, grass malts, with a hop hint. The taste was light and highly carbonated, but this is to be expected from an Extra Pale. This would make a good summer beer as it essentially goes down like water. No realy over bearing flavor profile anywhere, overall will give it another shot

Clear golden-orange body with a bubbly white head that decays into a film.

Interesting smell. Some toasted grain with a bit a ale-like fruityness.

Up front is toasted grain and buttery flavor with east coast hops in the back that are a bit floral. Some metallic edge that I don't really care for. Gets better as it warms.

Fairly crisp and clean.

Would be a good option if you are on a budget, but not one I would drink regularly as I prefer SNPA.

P- Market Cross Pub in Carlisle

A- pours a clear pale golden yellow. Traces of amber run throughout. Not too much head but a nice white lace rims around.

S- Citrus and sweet malts. hints of hops and alcohol.

T- defining lemon/citrus flavor. Malts catch the tail end of the flavor. I cant taste the malts as strong as i would have figured from the smell. Also an earthy type of flavor. Grass/wheaty.

M- moist and dry at the same time. Cleanses the mouth and palate though. Smooth and easy to drink. Crisp and refreshing.

D- easy to put one of these down. Not a bad flavor and it is crisp.

Soft, fruity (almost perfumed) scents that curb in the nostrils... pleasant but not pretentious... slightly effervescent... transparent orange body with a pencil-thin white head... light, slightly hoppy (sudsy?)--subdued and smooth taste... soft, slightly bubbly like champagne on the back of the mouth--generally nondescript but highly drinkable... a nice, sensible pale ale--and this review is tempered by the pricetag at Bottle King--$3.98 with a club card presented... quite a liquid asset in these economically heightened times...

12 oz bottle into a pint glass

A: One finger bubbly off-white head that fell quickly to a ring. Slightly hazy orange body.

S: Sweet - caramel - but not picking up any hops.

T: A sweet caramel malt taste with an unpleasant metallic quality. Some hops in the finish, but not enough.

M: Fairly light body w/ good carbonation.

D: It's from home (NEPA) so I really wanted to like it (and I do like some of their other offerings) but this is not what I want in a pale ale - and it's not very good.

Pours a hazy golden with bits floating around inside. White head that leaves lacing down the glass.

Smell somewhat of a sweet floral aroma.

Taste is sweet with a slight hop. Not getting much outside of that. Mouthfeel is nice for this beer. I will not seek out this beer again.

12oz bottle into a Pint glass, I was never aware that lion brewery made anything outside of lionshead, thanks Ryan.

A pale golden color with some light amber spots towards the middle. Smells include toasted malt and a decent amount of a slightly piney hop sense. Not really citrusy but there is some hops in here, im excited. Taste includes malts some caramel, slight applesause and light hops. The hops smell brighter than they taste. Not really piney or citrusy just earthy. The feel was below medium with active carb, I kind of expected the big carb blast. I would not mind drinking this again. It seems to be fairly fresh from this bottle, maybe because im in PA is why it's so fresh tasting eve though I was never aware of it. I would do a sixer in a evening if I had to.

A: Poured a pale gold-straw color with a slight micro-bubbly white head.

S: The nose was very light with trace hints of citrus, pine, and malt sweetness.

T: For flavor there was light fresh grains, and some grassiness for hopping. Flavor was moderate at best and pretty bland overall.

M: crisp with moderate carbonation but thin and watery.

D: average drinkability, overall a bland tasting pale with very little hop appeal. Why bother with so many other better examples out there.

Acquired from TheManiacalOne so a big THANK YOU goes out to him!
Poured in to a pint glass

A: This beer pours a clear orange, copper color with a one finger of off white creamy head. Head recedes quickly and leaves sticky sheets of lacing on the glass.

S: Nose is a touch of floral hops, toasted malts, and a grapefruit citrus.

T: Taste starts with a minor hint of floral hops, very light before being taken over by a pretty predominant caramel malt flavoring. Some toasted notes and breadiness come in before a good deal of grapefruit bitterness grabs the finish. After taste is slightly sweet, but still has that bitter presence there.

M: Lighter side of medium body, medium body, slick feel with a sticky finish.

D: Goes down easily, pretty tasty, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style. There are better of the style out there, this is a one and done for me.

12oz bottle given to me by my buddy Paul.

A:pours a nice 11/2"-2" head that takes about 30-45 seconds to fade. Its about a shade away from being a yellow piss beer & 100% transparent.
S:it actually smells quite nice compared to the appearance but nowhere along the lines of an APA. It has soft aromas of vanilla & banana with a tiny bit of citrusy hop nose to it.
T:large amounts of banana & spices cascade across the tongue. Almost no real hoppiness. The slightest bitterness comes in as I finish the sip.
MF:it has a somewhat pleasant mouthfeel as the carbonation mixed with the spice almost teases your brain into thinking a nice flavor follows only to be let down.
D:the ability to down these is phenomenal as it is extremely light. The only thing that would stop me is the not so pleasant taste.

Overall not a bad brew but I'm so stuck on big extreme beers right now this one almost seems like a lager.

I got this pale ale via my beer of the month subscription. Wasn't real excited about it because I'm not that crazy about pale ales.

When I twisted off the top, I immediately smelled bananas. Faint hoppy aroma. Good smelling, sweet. The smell began to perk my interest to say the least.

I poured it into a chilled pint glass and observed a one finger, white foamy head which dissipated rather quickly, leaving a bit of lacing. The brew has a nice yellow with hint of amber color to it. Very clear.

The taste is very well balanced and hits you right away. Bananas in the front, hops and wheat in the back. Buttery smoothness in the middle. Half way through the pint the flavor gained a little bit of a coppery character but the pint finished strong with a return of sweet banana flavor. All of these flavors are nicely nuanced. Not overpowering. This would make a wonderfully tasty session beer.

Mouth feel was smooth. Almost as drinkable as water. Mid to low carbonation.

I really enjoyed this beer. It far surpassed my expectations especially when I saw that the bros gave it a B-. To each his own I suppose. I think this is a much better brew than some have given it credit for.

Pours a light orange, amber with a minimal white head, not much lacing.
The nose is pretty floral with definite yeast aromas, grain, pale malt and a touch of American hops.
Sweet citrus and bread are the first to hit the palate, a hint of tart lemon and wheat notes with some esters and a faintly bitter finish.
Nice light body, crisp and bright.
