This one is getting its price worked into the rating against my better judgment. For a 24 pack of bottles, $11 for this caliber of beer is nothing short of amazing.
Looks a bit bland as a washed out gold with a hint of dirty brown and orange. the head was a lively white froth that fell to a collar.
Smells of dried out sweet corn, and a bready yeast that reminds me of a college party house basement. Theres also a snap of something dry and hop-like.
Tastes of corn bread and a touch of dry mushrooms that spikes in hop intensity midway through, but then falls to a musky, sticky baking yeast that makes me think I just ate a slice of tasty bread.
The mouth feel is light to medium bodied with a light tingly carbonation. This also seems a little on the sticky side.
So, if I put my pen down and just take a good pull on this one, Im a happy man. This is a very easy to drink beer. Although what I say about the flavor is a little disparaging, the best part is, is that it has a firm, clearly stated flavor that is far from offensive. Again, at $11 a case, this ones magnificent.

Got a 12 pack of this at Weis for $7. Was a little put off by the words "DELUXE PILSNER BEER" at first, because this is definitely an AAL and not a Pilsner. Sorta like Miller Lite, this just seems like a strange marketing tactic to me. Cold 12 oz. can poured into a pilsner glass.
L: Similar to Coors Light. Amber color, small fizzy white head that quickly recedes. Minimal carbonation, but more than other light AAL's.
S: Grains, sweet boiled corn, some soap. A slight whiff of grassy hops.
T: Very complex for the price tag and style. About as much flavor as local competitor Yuengling Light, but at almost half the price. Same soapy grains up front as in the smell, but balanced out by sweet malts and a hint of the most mild hop bitterness.
F: A little thick and syrupy for a beer of this style. At 120 calories, it's a fairly heavy "light" beer. Still, the carbonation makes it a little more refreshing. Certainly the kind of beer you could drink a lot of in a social setting.
Overall, judged within the style and price point, this is a fantastic light beer. There is no reason to buy any other light beer in my area, as none anywhere near the price point have the flavor this does. It still does not depose Genny Cream as my personal "King of the Cheap Beers", but it has become my go-to light beer.
