Thank goodness for Stingo, his directions and his follow-the- leader skills! A nice renovated front with good, insulated doors and windows. A short, "J"-shaped wood bar to the left oblique. The back bar was right out of the 1940's/1950's with its white glass and mirror design. Standard tables and chairs to the right with an entire restaurant area to the extreme right. A cooler sat at the external end of the bar. The roast beef sandwich was tender, yummy, worth seeking out (and that from someone who normally disdains beef).

Four (4) taps - Yards PHLPA & Spruce; Sprague Farms Rustbelt Amber Ale; and Hellbender Porter. Cooler held Shenendoah, Thos. Hooker, Weyerbacher, Middle Ages, and Victory.

Taken from notes. Well, we were the first customers of the day, so service was perfect. We had the bartender/owner all to ourselves. Really cool retro mixed drink menu if you dig that sort of thing. I think I counted six taps, most of them PA craft. I understand that the owner resides in Philly and personally brings up kegs to put on. Many of the selection you will not find anywhere else in NEPA (PBC Walt Wit and Kensinger, Gen Lafayette Chocolate Thunder, etc.) Prices were very reasonable, like $3-4 per shaker glass. Did not try the food, but were offered complimentary chips and salsa. And yeah, like has already been said in previous reviews, the bar stools flat out suck, very uncomfortable. Overall though, a really cool little neighborhood bar with a unique to this area tap selection.

This place was great. A little quiet in the summer, but the service was great, awesome prices--you MUST stop here if you like good beer and you're in the area. The selection was a bit low, but the owner said she didn't end up picking up kegs the day before for some reason or another. I believe there were 5 taps and a decent bottled selection.

I was aslo EXTREMELY excited to see they carried General Lafayette Inn's beer! Great stuff. Also, mention you heard about them from beer advocate ;)

I'll have a more detailed write up on them soon on http://phillybeerscout.com

Unfortunately in the summer it's only open wed, thurs, fri...

Walked in on a busy Saturday evening. Good crowd and a quaint atmoshpere. Grabed a few seats at the bar and we were quickly greeted and served by a very friendly bartender. Draft and bottle selection were great. Enjoyed a Sly Fox Pils and a General Lafayette's Sunset. Bot served in very clean glasses and tasted fresh. Didn't try the food but the selection coming out of the kitched looked great.

My only complaint is the barstools. They are very uncomfortable. That aside, stop by this great place. The friendly staff will make you feel right at home.

This place offers great food and craft beer at a reasonable price. Look to your left as you enter B.F. J'eat and up on the wall is a small chalk board. There you should see the food menu for that evening. Hungry a litttle or a lot, you will be satisfied. There are substantial sandwiches, home-made soup, creative spreads, gourmet cheeses, and fresh salad(s) plus cake. B.F. J'eat is open at 5pm - Wed thru Sat. It is presently closed Sun, Mon and Tue. Trudy is the chef and Al is behind the bar. A full range of cocktails are available. This place is not just for us beer geeks although it could very well end up being my home away from home - the micro/craft beer on tap is exceptional (General Lafayette, Boulder, Southampton, Yards, etc.). Also, If your non-beer geek dinner companion needs a Coors light, they have you covered. Parking is available on the street. My wife and I have been to this place about six times over the course of the last month or so and always found a good spot to park directly out front of B.F. J'eat. The big, big mystery behind it's name is like a 'relic' to some of us. The B.F. could very well stand for BE FRIENDLY! Enjoy and Cheers!

What a great place. We've seen some of the comments on here and we decided to stop by for ourselves to chek out BF Jeat's in Nanticoke. What a pleasant surprise. First lets talk food...Delicious! And the dinners were $6...seriously...I had a great roast beef sandwich for $6! Amazing quality and fanstastic roll for $6! Next lets talk atmosphere. So far it's fairly quiet at BFJeats, but word will get out. Locally everyone remembers this place as the former Relics restaurant back behind LCCC. I understand it is the same owner(s) and same chef(s). My only complaints are what does B.F. J'Eat's mean? AND this place is a little tricky to find (in person and even searching the internet)...but well worth the search. Perhaps an easier name to find on-line and when calling directory assistance would be more marketable. Finally lets get to the beers. They have some local Stegmaier Wit and 150 (Wit kicked while we were there), a Yards ESB, a Boulder Mojo IPA and shocker of shockers....General Lafayette Chocolate Thunder Porter! How did they get this stuff??! As far as bottles they have a great selection of Weyerbacher, Yards, Victory and a few other west coast selections, although the cooler glass makes it really hard to see what they have. Seems like the bottle collection is growing. All in all this place is a hidden gem that I hope more people will find. Thanks to Al and Trudy...A+

BFJ'eats is a non-smoking beer bar from my neck of the woods. Having become a regular of the place I'd like to offer my views on it. The atmosphere is very nice - having been a gourmet restaurant in its earlier lifetime, and it is smoke-free which is also great. Great attention is paid to quality, presentation, and customer service. The staff is friendly without being clingy, and while admittedly still learning about the world of beer (aren't we all) they are more than willing to listen views about it.

As for selection, there are 5 taps, which have the following: Steg 150, Steg Midsummer White (yay for supporting the locals), Victory Golden Monkey, General Lafayette's Chocolate Thunder Porter and Yards ESB (yay for supporting the regionals). As a bonus you can even choose what size glass (from 10 oz to 16 oz) you would like for your draft beer. The bottle selection is also nice - Victory, Yards, Weyerbacher, Boulder and one other brewery from California whose name escapes me at the moment (no it's not one I've heard of previously, but the beer's good).

The food menu is very small, but inexpensive and well made. Roast pork, roast beef or buffalo chicken sandwiches can be had for just over a five dollar bill. For the vegetarian, (and this is where J'eats shows its gourmet heritage), there are fascinating selections such as the mushroom pate (delicious), exotic cheese, or (my personal favorite, when it's available) the red beet soup served cold with a dollop of sour cream.

All that said, keep in mind they are just starting out which means some rough edges... if you do decide to visit, bring cash, or have obopay or paypal available on your cellphone. Major credit cards are not accepted yet. So if you're one of those that has to have tons and tons of beer and food to choose from, you'll probably look elsewhere, but if you want a small, well chosen and local tap list, combined with excellent (unfried) food, drop on by BFJ'eats - I think you'll be glad you did.
