Powerhouse lists this as a Bavarian-style hefeweizen. I'll allow it, but just barely. Clove-spice elements are minimal and the aroma would be considered deficient by strict standards. There's no banana anywhere.

However, as a more Americanized clouded wheat beer, Powerhouse's version is sharp, with invigorating tonic-like properties that hold one's attention. Though my pint wasn't served with a lemon, and I would have declined one if offered, there's something a bit racy about this ale that might be further ignited by a wedge of citrus. It doesn't require one to mask any deficits. But if you think a lemon has its place alongside a wheat beer, this one might make for a case of justifiable citrus.
