This place was flat out weird but it had a selection that was very uncharacteristic of the area, you walk in and it is a normal liquor store, then to the right is a huge walk-in beer fridge, a kid working there brought me in a shopping cart and watched me pretty much the whole time I looked around, this store had at least five hundred different beers and probably more like seven hundred, they even let you take singles out of six packs which I definitely took advantage of, prices were steep though, most bombers I got were seven dollars when I saw some of them the next day at the grocery store for three or four dollars, also they had the most expensive bomber of Racer 5 I have ever seen at nine dollars, I got a Rogue Uber Pilsner, Sacaramento Brewing Russian Imperial Stout, Weed Mt. Shastafarian Porter, North Star Amber, Etna Old Grind Porter, and , the beer selection was very large but I already have access to a lot of it back home, other breweries I saw there consist of Alesmith, Green Flash, Mt. Shasta, Sierra Nevada, Rubicon, Hoppy, Avery, tons of different Belgians, Stone, Deschutes, Hair of the Dog, Bear Republic, and many more probably the best store I saw in this city and might go back when I visit again, the one major downfall is that it is super unorganized and stuff is all over the place, in cases on the floor, hidden behind things, etc., regardless if you live or are in Redding, check it out

I was really surprised when i walked into this place, at first is looks like a typical mini mart with a sign in the corner that says "the beer cave". which is a large walk in cooler that is full of beer, mostly craft beer, a few German, Belgian and of course all the macros. The selection is very good, lots of Rogue, Stone, Bear Republic, Lost Coast, Anderson Valley, and pretty much most of the California craft brews. the only thing that i didn't like is that most of the beers don't have prices on them and the receipt they give you doesn't break it down, so i really didn't know how much each beer cost.
I would definitely stop by this place if you live in Redding, and if you have time stop by if you are passing through.

Probably the best beer store in Redding. You wouldn't think it upon first glance... it looks just like a typical mini mart. But then you enter the "beer cave".

They have a large walk in fridge that is full of nothing but beer. About 3/4 of the beer in here is craft stuff. Rogue, Stone, Victory, Drake's, Bear Republic, etc... etc... not to mention quite a few odd ball British and Belgians. A lot of stuff that is here, is only available at J & S, other stores in town don't carry quite the variety that these guys do.

About the only drawback here is the prices are a bit higher. Most bombers and six packs tend to be a few dollars higher than elsewhere, but I don't really care too much. The people are nice, and the selection is quite good.
