Les Grains Maltés Heine is a small shop run out of the owner's garage in the village of Upton. There are no signs, and no shop hours. He deals mainly with brewpubs, so everything is on an appointment basis. That being said, Yves, the owner, seems more than happy to serve small-time homebrewers such as myself.

The shop is overflowing with bags of grains, hops, yeast packs and other goodies. If you can brew with it, odds are he has it. Everything is in bulk and he'll weigh out the exact quantity you need. Prices are quite good. Unfortunately though, they don't have any brewing equipment for sale, so I have to go elsewhere for that.

The best thing about this place is the service. Expect to spend the whole afternoon drinking Yves' homebrew and chatting. He's a great source of advice for tweaking recipes and techniques.

I definitely think that this place is worth a detour.
