Brought a growler around to the Father's Day cook out. It was a hit amongst the other family members who dont have a seasoned taste for beer.
Per the Smokehouse's website: This is a refreshing hefeweizen with just a hint of whole Oregon cherries added to the fermenter for a subtle tartness and perhaps a tinge of color
A- First off, this is in no way a Hefeweizen. Its not cloudy and its too copper in color. The head doesnt come anywhere near what a real hefe should be either. This is most definitely an American wheat. The color is bent towards the red side. Its a candy cherry type of red that highlights through an amber beer.
S- Not too special. Wheaty and snappy. There isnt any cherry that I can pick up.
T- Again, the cherry is very hard to pick up. Its there but faint. Its mostly all wheat with a balancing amount of hops. The cherries really just add color.
M- Lighter, almost watery but it still manages to be smooth. It finishes very dry.
D- This beer isnt all bad. It drinks easily and finishes clean.
