Rusty Bucket has been open here for a short time. It is not a very large place, so you may have to wait a bit for a table. High ceilings, lots of flat panel televisions, and signage all around. Not tacky, but not warm and cozy. The tap selection is not much to get excited about. Other than the standard Macros, they had Guinness, Stella, Goose Island Honkers, Hoegaarden, and Bass. The bottle list is much better, a few from Great Lakes, Rogue, all 3 Chimay beers, and Fuller's among the notibles. Our service was good, and the food was very good as well. Typical American Pub/sports bar grub, burgers, wings, sandwiches, and some entrees. Overall, a good place to eat, and you can pick out a few good beers to go with the food.

We stopped at this recently opened Rusty Bucket Tavern the first week in November. It's located outside the Dayton Mall. The restaurant was packed, so we sat at the bar.

Service was slow. The bartenders were quite busy, and it was a little tough to get our orders in. I can't really rip the service, it was just busy and newly opened.

Rusty Bucket has high ceilings and an open feel to it. The four sided bar is an attractive wooden piece. There are the mandatory pub signs and americana pieces on the walls. You've been someplace similar. It's a nice looking place, but somewhat franchise-esqe.

The menu is mostly standard pub-fare. Burgers, sandwiches, and wings are heavily here. There is also a bit of comfort food like meatloaf and macaroni and cheese. I had a bleu cheese burger, and it was very good. Every one in our group had a good meal.

The beer list was very solid. The Rusty Bucket has Twelve taps and about half are craft brews. Don't expect to be overwhelmed by American micros. They have many of the middle of the road imports, but there are some gems in the bottle list. Great Lakes, Rogue, Goose Island, and Sierra Nevada are the best US brewed offerings they carry. Beyond Stella and Corona, the import list has some nice suprises. All three Chimay beers, Murphy's Stout, McEwen's, Grimbergen and Fuller's are some of the nice offerings found here.

I won't tell you this is a beer mecca, but this Ohio based restaurant is a good step up from the national chain "neighborhood pubs".
