Served on tap at Sam's in Durham. Poured into a Big Boss pint glass.

Pours a pitch black color with a very light brown head. Smell is nothing spectacular.. very weak bourbon aroma. cant get much from the nose. Taste however..is EXTREMELY UNEXPECTED. This beer is SO TART. you can definitely tell it was barrel aged and the tart raspberries overwhelm the flavor. id classify this one as a sour! im blown away, just love the taste of this one. low carbonation and a medium body make this one very very easy to drink.

overall was thoroughly surprised and impressed by this gem. wasnt at all what i was expecting. highly recommend for any sour fans.

On tap at Bottle Revolution for Raleigh Beer Week.

Dark caramel brown pour with 1/2 finger of very dark cream head. Very little retention or lace.

Roast coffee, molasses, dried raspberries, and weak bourbon are all in the nose, but very understated.

Caramel malt, coffee, dark fruit (those raspberries), and roast malt define the nose. Very nice. There's just enough of a hint of Belgian yeast to keep this different.

Medium body, even slightly light for the rich flavors. Wanted this to be more stout-like, but that's not what they were going for.

Overall, very tasty.
