Sampled on 3-19-10

Pours a very slightly cloudy amber/brown color, with a filmy white head and nice rings of lacing.

Smell is very fruity with a surprising maltiness, very sweet with aromas of banana and Belgian yeast, and just a hint of alcohol.

Taste is like the smell at first, but then quickly changes to slightly sweet, slightly vegetabley, and very thin on flavor. I can see what they were going for, but it's not there.

Mouthfeel is way too thin, nothing for the lighter flavors to grab onto.

Drinkability is not very good, see above.

Overall, a good try, but that's it.

A hazy amber color pour with a small soapy offwhite head , short lasting but leaving some nice jagged lacing ,medium carbonation. Aroma of spice , clove , banana, and bubblegum, with hints of leather and alcohol . Flavor is lightly sweet with some cereal grain , caramel, earthy, clove, and light alcohol . Lightly bitter with a nice belgin yeast profile , short finish , crisp clean mouthfeel , medium to full body , a very nice beer , from a brewery that I am quickly becoming a big fan of . Nice work .

A: Dark mahogany/caramel appearance with a nice amount of head. Decent lacing, overall a pretty nice looking beer.

S: Smells very tart with citrus and orange peel. A pretty bitter smell, probably my least favorite part of the beer.

T: Best part of the beer. Nice belgian qualities - candied sugar, orange peel and a slightly sweet finish. I'm worried that some past reviewers got infected bottles, because this tastes nothing like cardboard as one reviewer said. Very nice taste, fairly authentic.

M: Nice feel, not overly carbonated but still crisp and clean.

Served from bottle into goblet at refrigerator temperature. Pours with little head and lacing. Colour is dark golden to brown with a very thin head that dissipates quickly; this is probably better on draught with a thicker head. The aroma is pleasantly biscuty with a malt that doesn't offer much of the annoying malt sweetness that the colour would have suggested. Even at 7.5%, there is no alcohol or ester flavour present. Pleasantly drinkable, this beer offers a lingering aftertaste of lightly roasted malt which appears only after the mouthfeel and initial flavour vanishes. This would be a good beer to pair with food such as sausage. There are probably better examples of the style, but this is worth trying.

Purchased a 12oz bottle at Woodstock Wine and Cheese.

Appearance: Open up to a beer that pored with very little head, after a couple of minutes, a very small ring around the top. Deep bronze in color.

Smell: A lot of caramel smell. I'm not getting much more then that. Musty

Taste: A little bit of everything in the taste. A little tart, raisen, dates, sour, yeast....

Mouthfeel: Good mouthfeel, not light, ever slightly alcoholic.

Drinkability: Drinkability is good also, but not because of the taste or smell.
