Warehouse Liquors was located right behind the Hilton I was staying for a conference.

Right when I walked in, I knew this was a nice, high-end bottleshop. They had beers in coolers and other styles on shelves though they specialize more in wines and whiskey. Very comfortable interior, friendly staff. The selection was a cross-section of standard to hard-to-find craft beers.

I was impressed with this place. When in Chicago, I shall revisit.

Warehouse Liquors has probably the best selection of craft beer in the Loop. They've got lots of local Chicago brews, as well as a good selection of craft and imports. I've found that this place tends to have some harder to find beers well past when the main places sell out, so it must not be as well known and/or it is off the beat and path a bit. Also, they always have an above average selection of 3-Floyds - if you are looking for that - much better than the South Loop Binnys. Prices are in line with Chicago area pricing, so if you are from out of town that means expensive.

Store is clean and well kept - nice looking place all around. Staff is friendly enough and helpful if you have questions.

Great place, and if you're staying in the loop (at a conference, for example), this is your best option within walking distance. Great friendly helpful staff. They don't have pick-six singles, which was a bummer, but they had a lot of bombers from local Chicago-only breweries. Good but not great or huge selection on other stuff that is distributed to IL. Years past they've hauled a few sixers of Zombie Dust out of the back, when I asked about it and didn't see it on the floor, so...pretty cool.

My favorite liquor store in the Loop and right next door to my favorite fried chicken in the Loop. Warehouse is always a must stop when down that way with their well cared for beer and immaculate store. Long wooden shelving holds bombers and such along the right when you first enter the store. Past the shelving is a long row of coolers holding all the six packs and some more bombers. New releases and new breweries are nicely spotlighted. The beer list is pretty extensive and the guys working there are always more than willing to chat you up. Good people at Warehouse.

The beer prices are a little inflated but nothing out of the norm for the area. Warehouse is certainly worth a trip. Get some Harold's while you're at it.

I love this place. I make sure to stop in every time I'm in town. The beer selection is awesome and the prices aren't out of line. They always have a nice selection and the staff is very helpful and knowledgable. I would highly recommend this establishment.

The staff is friendly and knowledgable. More than that, they're helpful. I was staying at a hotel around the corner and made several trips into Warehouse Liquors during my stay. On the second trip, John greeted me and actually pointed something out for me that just came in that he knew I was looking for from my previous trip. I am not sure how fast the beer moves off the shelves here, though. I saw 2009 and 2010 vintages on the same beer on the same shelf. They also do beer and wine tastings and their liquor selection appears top notch as well.

I was staying at the Hostel International just down the street, and was on my way to Binnys, when I passed by Warehouse Liquors. I stopped in, and that particular day I was in search of whisky. Well hell, they have alot of whiskey. I ended up picking up a bottle of Talisker 18 year for a very affordable price, and none of the Binny's in Chicago had it in stock. Go figure. They have a decent selection of beer...I guess I'm biased, because I can score some top quality whiskey here, and support the little guy. I will stop here anytime I am in the Chicago area...

If you are in chicago and visiting/staying in the loop looking for a place to get beer, this is your stop. My dog and I stop by here once a week to grab a sixer or bottle and shoot the sh*t with the guys. The selection is awesome for the area and the service is exceptional, you will pay a bit more but the service and convenience for me (printers row) are well worth it. They always have singles available too if there is something you want to try but dont want to pony up the money for a 4 or 6 pack. Typically they have tastings on thursdays...

I'm very pleased this shop is in my neck of town.

This happened to be around the corner from our hotel, so I stopped in for a six pack on the way back one night. Friendly people and a great looking store with wood floors and a long wall of coolers. I'm not an expert on the local selection, but there seemed to be a pretty good selection. Lots of locals, plus a good representation of nation wide craft offerings, along with imports. Prices did seem a bit high. Also had a small selection of cigars and gourmet food. Probably not a destination, but its a nice spot if you are in the area.

Asked to leave after browsing the whiskey selection. No prices on the shelf, no staff offered help or acknowledged me. I picked up a couple bottles to look for the prices, and was immediately approached by a condescending manager and asked to leave. When I asked why, he said "you were walking back and forth picking up bottles".

Sure i'll leave, douchebag. I'll take my business elsewhere and let everyone know about your hostile, condescending staff that openly discriminates against their customers. With so many other options around, there's no need to patronize such a place.

I've been here twice in the past year or so, they have definitely improved their selection and emphasis on beer. The interior has exposed brick and beams, with nice wood flooring.

Once inside, on the right there are tall shelves with warm beer, and a few glassware items, namely Maredsous, DeKonick, and Unibroue. Lots of Belgians on the shelf, many are also available in the coolers further back. They have set up a circular wine rack on the center floor, completely decked out in Belgian 750s...at the top is the spendy gem Scaldis Prestige. Also on this rack was spotted Malheur Dark Reserve, at a lower price than Prestige ($24). Others such as St. Bernardus, Gouden Caroulus, Piraat, many of the usual suspects.

In the coolers, most of the craft 6 packs and bombers could be located. The newly expanded Arcadia line (5), Great Lakes (5), 3 Floyds (3), Goose Island Reserve year-rounds, plus many more that have already been mentioned. There were a fair amount of import singles as well, such as Erdinger & Okocim Palone.

Checkout was friendly enough. Prices were in line with the area. Also worth a look is Printers Row Wine/Spirits, 2 blocks away on Dearborn.

I dont remember this store being great a few years ago but i stopped in yesterday and was very pleasantly surprised....

As mentioned, its about a block from the Chicago Hilton in what would otherwise be a pretty empty part of the city. My friends booked a room at the Hilton for the Pitchfork Festival, so i had to work with the loop for the weekend

For being next to a dirtbag chicken shack, 2 doors down from a somewhat shady divebar and across the street from a Travelodge, this store is actually very nice. The inside is well kept, well lit, and all wooden. Its basically just a really long aisle as the building is pretty narrow.

The first thing i noticed was a healthy shelf of Belgians and other bombers. I picked up 2 of the new Three Floyds Anniversary beers which i hadnt seen elsewhere yet (thought i wasnt really looking). There were a number of New Holland bombers, arcadia hopmouth, oak aged yeti and some avery bombers around as well. There are a number of chilled 6packs to choose from including 4 or 5 from New Belgium, a number of New Holland and Arcadia choice, goose island and some other standard midwest sixers.

If you're into wine, they have a decent selection, mostly on the high end of the price scale.

The people working were cool too. Both guys at the counter were raving about the 3 Floyds I was buying and the guy who carded me and saw my address proclaimed Madison the greatest city in the country.

good experience...if you get stuck in a hotel down that ways, check it out

About a block away from the downtown Hilton. Right next to a chicken place that's not that great.

Pretty much your average inner city liquor store. Good selection of American micros along with all sorts of macros, but nothing great. What sets it apart is its MASSIVE selection of 750 ml Belgians. Tons of stuff you just don't find at other places in Illinois, not even at Binny's, along with a lot of exclusives.

Not exactly a place that you *must* stop by, but if you're in the area it's well worth checking out.
